Now that is funny.  What classifies someone as satanic?  whats the difference between someone who is a devil worshiper and someone who is plain ol' not saved?  They will both go to hell...and then they will be officially and eternally satanic!  So go ahead and start throwing away all of your sean john cause neither one will make it to the kingdom which makes them both keepers of the devil, which makes them both satanic.

(just my thoughts)

Agreed. Well Said.

Talking about an image....what about all of the other musical artists that members of this site support???? I personally know who Joey is. As a matter of fact, for alot of the cats that didnt know who he was, I posted clips of him back in the day showing who he was. I come from a Heavy Metal background. I used to own every CD of Slipknot.
I dont listen to that music anymore. Dont intend on ever listening to it again.

But a quick question for you QC:

What makes a White Heavy Metal Guy automatically deemed satanic just by his looks....
BUT
P. Diddy & Kanye can rap about KILLING people. PIMPING hoes. Mistreating Women. UNLAWFUL living. and you somehow find that they are ok????? If it goes contrary to the Bible. Its Satanic! And all the above...in case you didnt know, is contrary to the Bible.

God bless.

I don't think anybody was confused about who the drummer was, but not a lot people know who joey jordison is. I REFUSE to play on ANYBODY snare who looks like Joey Jordison, and if you never seen this guy, I have put a link on here to his picture (he's on the left)........................

Dont be an idiot! So what if he looks like that! Id more listen to what his band is about and Ill tell you its very Satanic! BUT! He didnt make the drum, Pearl did! Is it being used for the glory of God? Yes! BY LOTS OF CHRISTIAN DRUMMERS! I own one, I love it! You'd use other secular artists drums and who knows what they are into!

...hey you know bigblackdrummer is rockin' his snare right now.  I'm sure he'll have something to add. ;D
...I don't like it personally.  The Slipknot symbol on that snare is not something I want to have on the altar at my church.  I have a guy that works with me that's a real die hard Slipknot fan and he told me himself that one of the guitar players of the band left because he was going back to church.  As a matter of fact, he has his own Christian Rock band now but I don't know their name yet.

...to each is own though.

Sup, My friend! Yo we should talk this week...Ima call you guys this week! Anyway, If I didnt tell you (not you personally but metaphorically) who or what, that symbol would mean jack to you and you would just hear a sweet drum. There are truly satanic symbols but that's not one of them! Its a band symbol! I used it in a Church last month and the spirit rocked the whole worship service...People came out changed, now! Did the drum hinder the spirit, no! Did demons jump out the drum, NO! Do I see demons at night, no! Did it rock a church service, heck ya! Did the Spirit fall...YES!

I don't think white heavy metal guys are satanic. I stated earlier that after looking at alot of his pictures, and seeing some of the satanic symbols he wears and things of that nature remind me of that. Go look it up and see for yourself. I mean this is a group that has lyrics in thier song that talks about "cutting your heart open and letting the air out", .............

I mean its just my opinion and just something I chose to do.  I'm not trying to convince anybody to do what I'm doing, but its just me.

As I stated before, I need no introduction to Slipknot. I did, at one time own all of their albums...I am simply pointing out the fact that you say, they are satanic, but yet you are cool with what you listen to. To me thats hypocritical. All the "Thug" Rappers, are just as much devil worshippers as the Heavy/Death Metal Bands. And I dont think you want my to post lyrics of the 2 that you mentioned. They wouldnt be appropriate for a Gospel Website.

Keep popping that Snare BBD.  8)

I don't listen to thug rappers Eccentric. Kanye West is far from a thug. And even though I don't listen to P. Diddy's music, hes one of the most successful entreprenuers and businessmen out there. Not one time did you hear me say anything about a thug rapper. I'm cusrious to why you thought that?

I was reffering to satanic because of the symbols on JJ's clothing that I have seen from pictures. Could you please enlighten me on the symbols that are worn on thier clothing?

Praise Him with clashing cymbals!

Oh definitely. If whoever wants to play the snare, do you! I do as well understand where everybody else is coming from. If we all had the same opinions on everything then this would be a very boring site!

QC, I know where you are coming from. I was just trying to get you to see that the fella's you mentioned are not too Godly. and if they are not Godly, then they are Satanic as well. No hard feelings.

Got folk defending Joey Jordison?   :D  :D  :D

Jesus.

ER you were into Deth Metal!!!!  Did you have the nose rings, eyebrow-piercings, Purple 'n' Red hair, etc.???   :D  :D  :D
Man, I always pegged you as a pretty straight-laced guy.  I guess ya got some rocker in ya huh!

I ain't mad atcha bruh.

I do believe the symbols employed by some Deth Metal groups are Satanic.

However...

A snare is a musical instrument.  If it works for you, than go for it.  It wasn't made in Joey Jordison's Basement.   :P

Would I get it?  Yes.  Will I get it?  Nah.  I've heard it's not very versatile.

This world is ran by un-saved people. I'm aware of that. P Diddy is not saved, but I'll still wear his clothing. Kanye is not saved, but I'm a fan of his and I'll still buy his album. I doubt if Dave Weckl or Steve Gadd are in church worshipping EVERY Sunday, but I love thier sticks.................. lol, the point is that I don't support openly satanic people. I mean I would buy Blink 182's Travis Barker snare before I would buy a Jordison. To some people it is just a snare, but I just personally think its more than that.

Well, i personally think that is something that you should be concerned about. A person that is openly satanic is not as dangerous as the unsaved person that does the devils deeds unknowingly. You see, it is easy to recognize the devil in a demonic outfit, but what we should open our spiritual eyes to are the things that we dont see on the outside. I would never purchase a Kanye West album, Why? Because although he claims to be a christian, i have heard a few of his others songs and they vex my spirit. As a christian I dont want foul music in my spirit. I dont want to walk around singing those kinda songs or watching those types of videos.

No. I have never had a piercing. nor will I ever. and I dont have any tattoos. I was into really hardcore stuff. its just what I used to relate to until I let God get ahold of my life. You'd be surprised by what else God delivered me from. but thats another conversation.

Thank God I'm a changed man!  ;D

i think i speak for just about every accomplished musician on this site when i say, "you have to learn how to filter the music."

what i mean is, you have to learn how to drain all of the good from music and leave behind the bad.  i will listen to almost anything if i like it and it gives me good musical ideas but if the lyrics are foul, then i just block it out and concentrate on the music.  i have lots of jazz and r&b experience but i had to get it from the clubs.  the clubs have people drinking, smoking and women trying to take you home.  i had to filter my setting.  I stole the experience to better my craft and left behind the bad.  this also goes for playing in church.  i have had alot of experience with gospel choirs and groups and believe me, even though there is nothing wrong with the lyrics, after rehersal, you got women trying to take men home and men trying to take men home!  :-*  LOL!  thats gross but its true and you still gotta filter the music and experince and leave behind the bad!

if youre capable of doing this, then you can and will grow musically and gain versitility in your playing.  its about being mature enough to be mature!   ;D

(just my thoughts, nothing more)

peace and love

I hit a Joey Jordison snare today and I didn't like it.  It seemed to be too much like a piccolo.

I disagree! Let me give you a true story! Its funny that we are talking about Joey Jordison. My friend who is a wicked Christian Progressive Rock drummer lent me the slipknot DVD. Let me tell you Joey Jordison is one of the best drummers for wicked fills and fast feet you will ever hear! I was watching trying to lift stuff cause he is freaking good! But then something in my spirit was feeling right and it was like the spirit said listen to the lyrics.......I was like "WHAT!" Tried to listen to it more but my spirit was not right over it.....Turned it off...Went to my friend and said you need to toss this....He knew I was right and got rid of it! Now in the beginning I was listening to the lyrics just the drumming but my spirit still picked up on the evil element of the music!
