I disagree! Let me give you a true story! Its funny that we are talking about Joey Jordison. My friend who is a wicked Christian Progressive Rock drummer lent me the slipknot DVD. Let me tell you Joey Jordison is one of the best drummers for wicked fills and fast feet you will ever hear! I was watching trying to lift stuff cause he is freaking good! But then something in my spirit wasnt feeling right and it was like the spirit said listen to the lyrics.......I was like "WHAT!" Tried to listen to it more but my spirit was not right over it.....Turned it off...Went to my friend and said you need to toss this....He knew I was right and got rid of it! Now in the beginning I wasnt listening to the lyrics just the drumming but my spirit still picked up on the evil element of the music!

I ment to say wasnt a bunch of tome so let me go in and fix it!

well to alot of people its just a snare.  this world is linked in too many ways with the idea of "evil."  if you decide to judge this snare by its prime endorsee, then go ahead and start cleaning out your church ties cause chances are, they are made by a company in which the CEO is gay or KKK or a down right devil worshiper.  (just my thoughts)

as long as youre not hitting the snare and the snare is producing an "evil chant,"  you should be ok unless, like sabe, you just plain ol' dont like the snare.   :)

my pastor once said, "When you buy somebody's product, you're really giving them an offering that you would not have given to God." i'm with the guy who has decided not to give jordison an offering. . .

...you can come close though.  Covenant Drums. ;D

Sidenote; I think Pearl Drums need to work on the snare line for this coming up year.  Maybe they'll come out with some new ones for NAMM '07.  I'm still searching for that Marvin "Smitty" Smith 4x14 copper.  I need that one bad.  That's a hott one.

some can bypass the lyrics and some cant.  youre right by turning the music off if it disturbed your spirit.  we all have different levels of tolerance.

Or some of us have desensitised ourselves so much that the Holy Spirit cant speak to our spirit anymore!

Or some of us have desensitised ourselves so much that the Holy Spirit cant speak to our spirit anymore!

but if this is true in this case, then there is no need for the Holy Spirit to speak to anyone about foul lyrics that they block out.

you know the scientific theories on how earth was created right?  you had to read it and understand it just for the grade in school right?  but you didnt have to absorb that information in your spirit did you?  so you filtered the class, stole the education and left behind the false doctrine right?  same thing in this case.  eating and digesting.

play the snare if you like the sound.  listen to the music if you like it.  take whats good and the rest is history!  (just my thoughts, nothing more)

and how was that concert JUSE?  is it just now ending?  LOL!  You never called MAN!   ::) :D

I asked an owner of 2 pitbulls, " who would win in a fight?" He said, obviously the one who I feed the most! Who's winning in your walk, the spirit man or the flesh? Who are you feeding the most?
I dont think i need to explain this one.

Quote
Pearl  JJ1365 13x6.5 Steel Shell Joey Jordison Signature Snare Drum

Sinister drum, sinister sound... come on over to the darkside!

The JJ-1355 Joey Jordison signature snare drum features a 13” x 6.5” 1 mm steel shell that can be best described as a "power piccolo" with the high pitch and bite of a piccolo with the body and depth of a 6.5” for the kind of power you expect from Joey. Black Super Hoops and Masters double ended lugs compliment the black shell decorated with Slipknot logos repeated around the shell. The drum’s SR-017 strainer features a vertical pull action for ideal snare-to-head contact using minimal tension and results in superior snare response at all playing levels.
This quote was taken from the Sam Ash website...

Why take a sinister drum with a sinister sound, proclaimed to be an instrument of darkness and play it in a place that is supposed to be sanctified and holy.  I understand we live in a world surrounded by sin, but that doesn't mean we should compromise to accommodate the prevalence of sin.  Consider this, would you rock a shirt that said "666" on it--even if it was the hottest shirt on the market?  If not, then why take the signature snare of a drummer who is unquestionably demonic?

Just my thoughts...
Sim
