I just got home from a Tye Tribbett concert...

I was blessed to be at a free  Tye Tribbett concert down here in Miami (we really don't get enough gospel artists comin down here to the 3-0-5). That brother is blessed...singing, dancing and most importantly preaching. He was laying the word tonight.

However, I write about his brother Thaddeus Tribbett, his brother, the bass player and musical director of soundcheck (the band). He is SICK. Have any of y'all ever heard him play? His runs, chords, structure...its straight ridiculous. Does anybody know anything about buddy as in his influences, practice techniques, etc.

P.s. if you EVER get a chance, no matter the cost, go see Tye in concert. He is truly has a "greater annointing" on him and his choir and his cds, while great and yall should support their new endeavor on May 23rd, they aint nothing compared to his live performances. It is truly a blessing.

Just wanted to share that with y'all. But seriously, Thaddeus? Y'all need to hear this cat. I'm going to go burn my bass now....

One of Thaddeus' main influences on bass is Jaco Pastorius. If you're familiar with Jaco you'll notice that Thaddeus likes to quote some of Jaco's most popular lines from time to time.

Yeah thaddeus is a beast, but I dont hear enough of him becuase Im not a Tye tribbet fan at all. I personally think some of his stuff is too contemporary worship for my personal taste. Who else does thaddeus play for??

I had the privilege of meeting Thaddeus a few months ago at the Bobby Jones Retreat in Hollywood, FL.  This
is one MADMAN on the bass.  The church's music ministry performed during a taping.

I think i have the DVD To the concert that u went to. I love Tye Tribbett. As me being a musician i be suprised by some of the things that they do. The DVD i'm talking about is called Kingdom University. It's like tye tribbett has a song to fit everyone style. I listen to his CD every day. Actually it's like four songs i'm trying to learn off of there. I really want to learn the song called G.A Hynm: Who Else But God. If i'm talking about the same concert hit me up on it.
