I believe everything flows from the head and the head has the authority to stop the flow if that’s what’s put in their spirit but however, if their operating in the flesh that’s something entirely different. So it depends.
1.) My pastor has the ability to set the tone because he sings under the anointing.
2.) They were a former Praise and Worship leader, so they know what it takes if Praise and Worship drags behind.
Remember we are ministers of music (Minstrels) and sometimes the spirit can sing through the music or an individual that’s anointed to sing (like a Psalmist.)
Paul encouraged the believers to worship the Lord with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. During Paul's day, there were no hymns such as the ones we have in our hymnals and have sung for the last few hundred years. So what did he mean? Psalms are singing the Holy Scriptures. The entire Old Testament or the Jewish Tanach was available during Paul's time, and being a Jew, that is what he meant by singing the scriptures. We know that the book of Psalms was all songs; so it was sung or chanted. Paul's term of the hymn meant songs written by human composition. They were not copied from the scriptures, but composed in the mind of the person and given a tune.
The third category of songs is the spiritual songs. They are the songs of the spirit. They are spontaneous songs sung "off the cuff" in worship to God. Most churches today are all doing hymns, but very few get into the spiritual songs. That is a shame, because the spiritual songs can bring the congregation into a new refreshing realm of prophetic worship. Spiritual songs may be aimed towards God, which would be worship, or they can be like telegrams or messages coming down from God, sung through a messenger.
Psalms means songs. Psalms can be sung or played on any musical instrument. Because music is the universal language of the soul and spirit, sometimes words are unnecessary to convey the message or heart of the song.
Psalming is a musical conversation between God and mankind. The psalmist is just the interpreter. The psalmist is a person used by God to give messages to His people. The psalm is like a singing telegram of sorts. Sometimes the song is coming from God. God sings through the psalmist to give a message to someone. Other times the conversation or song is directed to God. Conversations go back and forth between people to other people, or between people and God.
The calling of a psalmist is very serious. Since much of the music gets into such intimate and prophetic things, the psalmist must be of a clean heart. As a musical interpreter, the psalmist is representing the voice of God. A psalmist must have a tender heart, sensitive to God's voice, and always check their motives. The psalmist is never perfect, so they must be open to God's correction and rebuke, if need be. Even King David committed many sins, from murder, adultery, etc. but he was always tender in heart to God's correction. David always listened to the rebuke of the prophets and repented of his sins. Once pride sets in, the psalmist is no longer listening to God, but trusting in his/her own achievements Prophetic psalming
As the word says, this is prophetic in nature. Here the psalmist gives a message from God to the listener for their edification, correction, redemption, or direction. Prophecy is often associated with predicting the future, but it can simply be a message from God, telling them things only God could possibly know about. God may bring up something from the past. God only brings up the past, so it can be dealt with and the person can be forgiven or healed from the torment of that situation. By facing the past, we can then be released to face the future.
Prophetic psalming can be awesome when it truly comes from God. It releases healing, deliverance, and redemption. The person is set free. It brings peace, joy and ultimate re-union with God. The psalmist must be careful and make sure they deliver it in love and sensitivity. Even if the word is correct, if they deliver it wrong, they can completely humiliate the person the message is for. For instance, if a florist delivery person walked up to a home and threw the bouquet in the person's face when they answered the door, do you think that person would enjoy those flowers? The flowers may be beautiful, but it is all in the presentation! Don't ever "throw" God's message in a person's face, unless GOD says so! God is LOVE!
It is a very serious responsibility to be a mouthpiece for God. God deals with false prophets very sternly. More people have been damaged by people who had a "personal word from God" that wasn't from Him. We are warned to test the spirits. Not all spirits are from the Holy Spirit. I firmly believe in prophecy and know that God still uses people to be His mouthpiece, but a lot of people have been hurt by false ones. So test the spirits!
Col 3:16 "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."
Psalming under the anointing of a anointed psalmist can be used for the deliverance of evil spirits and for healing in mind and body. Demonic forces, heredity, natural causes, poor health habits, etc can cause sickness. By knowing the source of the sickness, the right treatment can be applied. If underlying mental anxieties causes bad habits, but the psalmist can help.
Hereditary mental and physical illnesses are passed down through the generations. The Bible talks about generational curses. These can be brought on by sin in a family member from the past. It can also be a curse that someone knowingly or ignorantly cast on the family. Curses can be brought into a home through watching demonic/sexually explicit movies on television, demonic things we look for on the internet, demonic books or art, demonic children’s games, dabbling in the occult, horoscopes, fortune telling games, etc.
Curses can be broken by standing as representative for the family, acknowledging all sin that may have started it, (and any other sin for that matter), asking forgiveness, and pleading the blood of Jesus, who became a curse for us. Anytime you are dealing with demonic curses, this is very serious, and not to be taken lightly.
All born again believers in Jesus technically have the right and authority to cast out demons. However, if there is unrepented sin in your life, Satan will use it against you and torment you with it. (If that happens, just admit your sin, ask God to forgive you, and ask for God's help to keep you from doing it again.) Once you repent and ask forgiveness, God DOES FORGIVE you! Satan can no longer accuse you with it. You admitted your sin, God forgave you, and you are covered by the precious blood of Jesus. (Satan can't stand it when you mention the blood of Jesus.) Do you understand what power the blood has? Jesus paid for your life by sacrificing his own. You are bought and paid for with Jesus' own blood. Jesus bought and signed the contract for your life with his own blood. His blood washes away all sin so that we can stand clean and pure before God.
Demons like to live in warm blooded living things, especially humans. When they are cast out of a person, they look for somewhere else to inhabit. They look for a weak person who is easy to overcome. Or if that person has unrepented sin still in their life, they will try to torment them. Only people who are of clean heart (repented of all sin) and spiritually mature should cast out demons. However, there are always exceptions. Even in our ignorance, God knows our hearts and mercifully rescues us in our weakness. If God tells you to do something, even though you don't feel qualified, if He says do it, He'll keep you safe. It is only by His power that it is done anyway. Remember, our trust is not in our abilities anyway, our trust is in God.
1Samuel 16:16 "Let our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well."
Songs to bring on the prophetic anointing of a Prophet
Prophets of Old called for a psalmist when they had trouble hearing from God. In 2 Kings 3:15 Elisha called for a minstrel....
" But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him."
