Help me tweak my snare Please!

I just purchased the cherry maple pork pie snare drum 5.5x14 very similar, if not the same as the one Chris Coleman is using on his Dynamic Drumming video. My question is what kind of heads should I put on it (the stocks sound good) and should I put 10 lug die-cast hoops for more even tuning on it instead of the triple flanged hoops that came on it? Thanks in advance for your help.

u can go either way with the hoops. i have 2 snares one with the die cast an one with out. u can evenly tune them if u tune them right u feel me. as for snare haeds. it depends on the sound if u like the overtone u would want to get a thinner head. if not get a thicker one like the powerstrokes 3 or 4. the resonant head i use either hazy 300 or ambassador. it all depends on wat u like wat sound u want.
