What is "FPC" ???

First Pentecostal Church of Austin.  I just didn't feel like typing it out since it's in my profile. :)

we have what we call 'blowout services" or a "holyghost takeover" in which people just begin to rush to the alters while the worship is going on and the spirit just seems to engulf the place.
as long as it's not conjured up I have no problem with going with the leading of the spirit. too many churches have simply organized the holyghost out of their services.
on the other hand, i've seen on a couple of occasion, the preacher try to hype everyone up simply because he didn't feel like preaching

I've seen that before, when somebody gets up to "preach", and all they do is try to hype up A spirit and yell and scream so they can feel like they incited others to worship.  Ultimately they make themselves look silly.

This kind of thing that we're talking about can't be forced, conjured, or organized.  When it happens, it's clear that it's the Holy Ghost moving, and you gotta get with it or get out of the way.

Happens all the time for us, especially lately!!! This past Sunday had the potential for us to be there in God's presence ALL DAY LONG!!! An atmosphere where we don't count time--in places like that, you don't even realize how much time has passed....so thankful GOd has full control of our service!!!

I'm trying to remember if this has happened at the church where I attend now.  At my dad's church, sometimes the Holy Ghost would start moving in Sunday School, and we would never let out just continue praising God and letting him have his way.  After that, we would just give an offering and go home.  I liked those services, because there was so much less of "us" and more of "Him".

Yep.  Actually, it goes beyond shouting, dancing and such, and just goes into pure unhindered WORSHIP.  That's when you just have to forget about your so-called "order of service" and let God have His way.  Read a scripture before you dismiss and that's that.

EXACTLY!! Now there have been PLENTY of sundays where half of the church was laid out eating carpet and tile to the point where our Apostle couldnt preach......come to think of it he was out on the floor too! ;D

Oh man that's happened a lot.  Could you really tell the Spirit of the Lord was really moving?  When the Glory of the Lord comes, it's all over anyway.  Who can compare to Him.  But, have you ever seen it when the Spirit of the Lord comes and people are shouting and the Preacher shuts it down and says, it's time for the word?  Huh?  I think some preachers miss God sometimes.

I feel that the Spirit man is ready for the Word in times like these IF---a BIG IF, that is what God intends. There are times when services shut down and the preacher who has an intimate relationship knows when to say---"That's all God wanted today, go in peace" and they don't even take up an offering (happens at my church).

There are also times when a breaking comes and the house is ready to actually receive the Word God intended thru the man/woman of God. I truly believe its all a matter of where the speaker/pastor/leader is Spiritually. Just my belief.

I don't think Unique knows that phrase has another meaning.  I know I didn't until I heard somebody say it the other day and asked what it meant... needless to say, I was sorry I asked.
