What's up MONALISA,

i play a lot of hymns because I live in the country of North Carolina, and that is what we play in the country. I do play a lot of the new stuff too, but without a lot of the other instruments it make it hard to get that full sound that you hear on the albums. At most of the Churches I play for, there is just a drummer and a keyboardist (myself). However when I play hymns, I play them the way the Lord wants me to play them. Some hymns I play them the way that they usually are played, and some hymns I out a twist to them I said that to let you know that if you can't get help on this site, to learn how to play hymns or the older songs, just play with the melody of the song and put some chords that you know soound good, and watch the people come up to you asking do you give lessons or saying what other Church do you play for. Most Importantly though always Pray. Prayer is the answer to all things. GOD BLESS YOU!!!

I will post "Turn It Over To Jesus" either tomorrow or Monday
I think I remember "Yes" by Mississippi Mass Choir (if that's the one with James Moore leading it)

It's been a while since I've heard or played some of the other songs. I'll see what I can remember. I also have some other old school songs that you didn't mention in your list that might be helpful as well. If my toddlers ever give me time to sit down and concentrate, I'll start posting on Monday :D

Here's "Jesus" By Timothy Wright. Credit goes to Saxman for chords:

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus (Katrina Song)
By: Timothy Wright

Verse 1:
Db/Ab-Db-FJesus, Jesus, Jesus.
Ab/Gb-Ab-B-Eb
Db/F-Ab-B-Db
Gb/Gb-Bb-Db/Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.
F/F-Ab-Db
A/F-A-C-Eb
Bb/F-Ab-Bb-DbJesus, Jesus, Jesus.
Eb/Gb-Bb-Db
F/F-Ab-Db
Gb/Gb-Bb-Db
Eb/Gb-Bb-Db
Ab/Gb-Ab-Bb-Db/Jesus, Jesus,
Db/F-Ab-Db/Jesus.
Bb/Gb-Bb-Db
C/Ab-C-Db

(Repeat)

Verse 2:
Savior, Savior, Savior.
Savior, Savior, Savior.
Savior, Savior, Savior,
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.

Verse 3:
Healer, Healer, Healer.
Healer, Healer, Healer.
Healer, Healer, Healer,
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.

Verse 4:
Thank You, thank You, thank You.
Thank You, thank You, thank You.
Thank You, thank You, thank You,
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.

Ending:

(repeat as desired)

Use the same chords for the next verses.

Hope this helps.

One reason you won't see those songs posted is because this is a new generation.  Back when these songs were out, there wasn't any music boards like this online to get chords.  Most musicians these days have no clue what some of those song are.  Even if they do, they don't care because most churches don't sing those type of songs regularly.

Another reason is because it may be too hard to find those songs on CD's or tapes.  So, even if we could chord them out for you, we don't have the original recording to hear it.  So, along with your requests, maybe you should post a music file of the song, then us "new school" players could help you out.

One more reason is because the "old school" players who do know these songs don't know how to use the computer to post the chords.  This is mostly an extention of the first reason.

That song is not by Timothy Wright.  That song is "Jesus, Precious King" by Beverly Crawford.

On the song Jesus I'll Never Forget - Joe Pace...

Are you looking for the Old School chords they start out with or the contemporary version the song goes into...or do you just need the entire song, because to me this version is not really Old School.

I can post a couple of these songs...but some listed I don't really consider to be Old School...maybe I should be quiet I may be giving away my age...lol
