Also, and this is strictly my OPINION, but of the two versions of "Let it Rain" posted, the non-MWS version is my preference.

I know this will probably sound somewhat disrespectful and maybe even a bit racist    but I have never been able to listen to MWS's voice and music for more than about 5 seconds.
It's so white, it's painful.
He's a gifted musician and writer who I'm sure is a great guy but I just have some kind of natural aversion to his voice and his performances of his songs.
When other folks cover his songs, I got no prob. 

But this isn't what this thread is about, is it?

hahaha, i don't like smitty's voice either.....but his version was the only version i had ever heard until the other day. I like both version for what they are, just smitty's version with someone else on vocals,

I just printed out a chart for "Let it Rain".
I might put this in the line-up for this weekend...tag it onto another tune...make me a medley.

the MWS version is cool in an acoustic setting, or a more guitar driven setting. being in that minor key gives it a nice intensity sometimes.

but the other version is great too.......i did the MWS version at my old church and had a big guitar solo in it...had no idea this other one even existed....i guess the song just needs a big guitar solo, no matter which version you do.
