I agree with what my fellow LGMer's have said but no matter what happens don't ever give up on your dream. I've been through a similar situation and I'm still going through the same thing currently. It never feels good to feel unappreciated but you have you know and understand that God is using this time in our lives to prepare us for bigger and better things. This is the humbling process...All that we can do is continue to be faithful to God. Because that's the bottom line, WE ARE PLAYING FOR GOD...not man. Let them talk but while they are talking, you just keep on walking. Sooner or later God's going to brings us out and when he does we will be able to handle our success because we will understand what it's like to have appreciation and to not have it. This will help us keep a level head when everyone else tries to lift us where we don't belong. Keep on praying and keep on playing.....what lies ahead is better than what's been.  ;) God bless

wow...thanks everybody. I couldn't hardly read the replies without weeping. Everybody is such a blessing and encouragement. I know people here have been were I'm at today. This situation went on almost a year ago and still continues today. But I'm pressing on anyhow! I know that no weapon formed against me shall prosper.

Honestly, it's one of the most difficult things I've had to face but I know that God has a destiny and anointing on my life and I'm gonna make it there. Just like Marvin Sapp's song...I never would have made it without the Lord...I would have lost my mind but now I see He's always there for me...love y'all

We Musicians go through a lot -- we have to encourage one another as well as ourselves from time to time!!

Just remember the music ministry is the NEXT best thing to the "SPOKEN" word!!

Sometimes you have to ask God if it is time to move. Then there are times that when situations are unhealthy its best for you to move on in love. Personally I believe you should be in a place where the environment allows you to use your gift. True story I moved to Nashville 8 years ago and a young dude by the name of Stanley Randolph replaced me on drums. I came home for our church's first Sunday in a new building. The MOM wanted me to play certain songs but I didn't feel comfortable because I felt that Stanley was better suited for the songs. Stanley and I had no beef because we were both mature in the Lord and confident in our individual gift. I'm not ashamed to say that Stanley is a better drummer but not at the expense of my gift. Stanley is doing well after all these years and has his own band called New Gensis. Long story short you need to be in an environment where you are appreciated and given expectations on when you will play and when you will not. If you leave your current situation it may not change or you may find that fellowship where the musicians don't care about who's got the phatest chords or licks. They only care about worship and treating everyone on staff with respect. Stanley is one of the baddest drums(and I do mean good) I've ever met. I was happy to play percussion or play when he switched to Piano. God resist the proud and exalts the humble.

As a new christian it is a shock when you see people in their humanity but you must remember to look at the God that works in them as well. Never covet or compare your gift to someone elses. Nobody can play like you!!! God didn't make you to play like another musician. I say find another place that needs a young, committed, and saved musician. P;enty of fellowships are in need even as we discuss this situation. Peace brother.
