Weekend Shed ........ November 16

Hey LGM fam, im here taking over for Quebass on this weeks weekend shed.

We all know that God has called us for holding down the low end, using our craft to give him praise, and to worship Him. We all know that I was God who has endowed us with this ability, so I first would like to give thanks for all He has done. I pray that our minds and hearts be focused on giving God the glory in each and every note we play... or dont play (muted notes, thumps, etc). I pray that our playing helps usher in your spirit and that you touch everyone under the sound of our instruments as well as each one of us. Let your anointing rest upon us that we may get closer to mastery of our craft so we can give you that much more praise. Bind up any frustration and confusion, disappointment, and any other negativity that the enemy may try to throw our way. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Go forth and thump in the name of Jesus Christ.

floaded, I know that whenever Que reads this he will thank God for you.

Fellow bassists, may God bless each and every one of you.  Pray for me and my 12-year-old son as he plays drums at church for the first time this weekend.

i pray that he plays in the fullness of the spirit and that primarily, God's name would be glorified through his playing.Thank you floaded 7 for that exhortation lol! God bless y'all

I just want to thank everyone who said prayers or offered words of encouragement for my son.  He did an excellent job--of course, I am a little biased.

God bless all of you and I hope your playing this weekend was both blessed and a blessing.

I was truly blessed by your spirits.....I pray that each of you had a wonderful past couple of weekends and for those getting ready for this weekend...Floaded...May the spirit of God anoint your fingers,hands, ears and eyes and you prepare to play for the Lord and His Saints....We are the rock and anchors...to God be the Glory as we put our selfishness aside so the the Real "Son" may shine...Jesus Christ...Bless you all..

I was trying to not grin from ear to ear but I was awfully proud.  Today I am going to look at a drum kit for him for Christmas.  Please continue to pray for us as we grow both in the music and in the Spirit.

And by the way, welcome back.  Hope you and the missus had a good trip.  Any bass stories to tell? :)

No bass stories really...I talked to one of the bass players on the ship that was with the band...they played mostly traditional 60's and 70's rock and top 40. He played a Fender P Bass...since we were in Europe there wasn't the carribean band that is usually on a cruise ship....

Good news on two fronts.

1.  I found a drum kit for my son! 

2.  The same son who played drums at church for the first time last Sunday led a song with the Youth Choir today.  "Cast All Your Cares."

Praise God! Man, your week is starting off great! I know he will love that kit once you get it and it is set up...father son weekend shed...hmmm! sounds like a new thread to add to the weekend shed!

It's killing me to wait until Christmas!  I suspect the shedding won't be limited to the weekends.

Thanks, Que, for the kind words.  He is a good boy and I am especially proud of him because he was really nervous about singing but he got up there and let the Spirit lead him.  My parents attend the same church and my mother was teary-eyed.

Don't be keeing that boy up late on school nights cause "dad" wants to shed! LOL!!!
