Lyrics For Older Black Gospel Songs
« on: September 22, 2004, 10:07:53 AM »
I was wondering if anyone knew the best web site resource to find lyrics for older black gospel songs.  It does not matter to me if the resource is a paid or free site.  Oddly enough, I am looking for the lyrics to the Andre Crouch version of Take Me Back Dear Lord.  I notice that this same song is already a topic in the message board forum.

I would appreciate any assistance in this matter.  Thanks in advance.

Leader,  thanks for the info.  It was very helpful, especially in finding lyrics to other songs.  The lyrics to Take Me Back Dear Lord seem to be very elusive.  Is the title correct?

Here are the lyrics for Take me Back

Take me back
Take me back dear Lord
To the place where I
First received You

Take me back
Take me back dear Lord
Where I first believed

I feel that I’m so far from You Lord
But still I hear You calling me
Those simple things that I once knew
Their memories are drawing me

I must confess Lord, I’ve been blessed
But my soul is not satisfied
Renew my faith, restore my joy
Dry my weeping eye

I tried so hard to make it all alone
I need Your help just to make it home.

Take me back
Take me back dear Lord
To the place where I
First received You

Take me back
Take me back dear Lord
Where I first believed

Jjkeyboard,  Thank you very much for the words.  This will be very helpful for me.  I should have asked this forum about 2 months ago.  Thanks again.
