altar call...............
« on: February 19, 2008, 01:34:55 PM »
Now I hope most of us know what altor call is...lol But have you ever gone to a different church and the preacher tells everyone to come up and you look at them like, you crazy...Then out of everyone they call you up but you feel they are not of God but of something self (self that is) or for show... It did happen to me once and i kept backing up when they tried to touch me, not to laugh but one of my friends said i looked funny backing off the way i did. Being brought up in my church my Pastor always told us dont jump on everyones prayer line.

so here is the question have you ever been put on the spot, by getting called up and knowing in your heart something isnt right????

I don't know what an altor call it, but I know what an altar call is!!  ;)  I have been in that situation before. I'm like you...I don't get into everyone's prayer line. You don't have to touch me to pray for me, especially if I just got my hair fixed!!!  :D :D But, if you don't go up or don't let them touch you, they try to make you feel that you have the devil in you.  A LIE!!!  >:(

Oh yes, I don't let folks just lay hands on me like that.  Don't it say some in the word of God about lay hands on no man suddenly?

Any way, I went to this church and they called the visitors up, and I was like ahh "heaven"  ;) ::) so I went, and they said thanks for coming etc, then went down the line, and started the layin & praying and I was like mmm mmm  :o ?/?  >:(  cause I had an un-easy feeling when I walked in (I only went because my cousin had to preach there) so they got to me, and I kept back up, and saying no thank you, so the pastor calls his wife up (like she was gone do something) and I told her no thank you, well Lord soften this brothers heart, and went to the next person. When it was over, I was like come one cuz b/c I'm mad and ready to get outta this place, and the pastor gone come to me and say something like, you need to pray and ask God to work on you.  I wanted to punch him in his face!
If it had not been for the Lord on my side, where would I be!!!

I usually dont mind having ministers pray for me.

And I Dont ever return to churches if i get bad vibes from them Even If I'm geting payed to play there

But i have seen people being singled out by pastors, to speak in tounges at the alter

And I have also seen pastor describe a very specific situation that somebody is going thru, so that that person can go to the alter to be prayed for. The person was knocked out on the floor, before retuning to his seat

I was never big on the whole laying on of hands thing. The only time i can vividly remember being laid hands on was when i jsut joined my current church and we were in worship and i was crying and hollering and all that stuff. I was going through stuff and was so confused. my pastor called me out and laid hands on me and it was FAYA!!!!!!!!

But since then i haven't been laid hands on and i am not actively looking for someone to call me out.

I've been through this before.  My pastors teach us not to fall out when someone praying for you.  Listen to what they saying cuz they could be putting roots on your or something.  Well, this one lady was just determined to make me "fall out".  So, everytime she push my head I stepped back.  She did that for a while, then she just gave up and told me to go back to my seat.  Now her ministry is defunct, LOL.

Around here when preachers lay hands on people, they try to knock your head off. So basically, people fall out or shout in order to get the preacher to leave them alone. :-\

I've had it happen before.  It was a new experience to me, so I didn't know how to react.  The guy kept pushing my forehead while inching up on me, so I kept backing up.  lol.  Then he gives the famous words, "Don't resist God!"  I'm thinking, "God is quite welcome to move, but He doesn't need your help!"  Eventually, the tug of war ended and he moved on to push down a weaker opponent.   :D

I must have that look  ?/?, I always get called out anytime I visit a church.

I have had people try to push me down, smack me in the forehead, blow on me (kinda weird), shake me. The funniest was when I was bracing myself expecting to be hit on the head and the preacher sucker punhed me in the gut. LOL I went straight to the ground and I was laying their thinking is this the annointing(the double nn kind of anointing) or did he knock my wind out.

Dude, some people will fall for FREE!!!! All the pastor has to do is look at them and they fall and start shrieking on the floor. I dunno bruh  :-\

I don't know if you've seen some churches that call themselves the cherubim and seraphim church. They are all called white garment churches cuz they go around with white robes and no shoes. Well there was this pastor who was in one of these churches and this dude would be tapping people with his HANDKERCHIEF and they'd be falling down and what not.

I saw it on TV, it was hilarious and scary to see at the same time.
