If i'm not mistaken ( this picture )...this is the talk among black college students, especially AKA's. There is an organization called MIAKA's! They view themselves as male AKA's. Notice how majority of them have on pink and green! I can get ya more pics if you don't believe me, but it driving some people crazy!

Yeah you are right about the AKA thing...the point of my post was to say that ....whether someone is gay or straight ... has a father or doesnt  is really besides the point .... Change is available if you want it... and the idea a fashion and mannerisms had come up prev in the post and some where sayin that sometimes its just personal styles or lack of a father ... I believe some things are done on purpose... i had a best friend who all my life people constantly asked me if that man was gay... i knew he wasnt but they only thought that because he hung around girls and he matched.... he had no "gay" characteristics (notice the quotation marks for people who get easily roused) they just didnt like him around girls alot.. little did they know back then he was screwin all of them... but if he ever put on some lip glass,,,,or carried a purse... he would have heard from me because if u dont want anyone to think that about you ... dont do no nonsense like carring a clutch and wearing eye shadow.. some things (if u really were gay and wanted to be delivered) God has to work out of you but somethings u can easily just give up...ie ....throw away your make up...

I'm well aware of that.  In fact, I've worked for a couple of them *gasp*!

Again, where do you want them to go?  Clearly, most churches don't want them "prancing" around their sanctuaries, singing in their choirs, ushering on their usher boards, or even walking through their doors... so again, where do you want them to go?

You (not you specifically) don't want them in your church, but you don't want them to have their own church... you just want them to wake up and be straight.  Well, it doesn't work that way for everyone, so until their "deliverance" comes, where do you want them to go?  Should they just keep going to the churches that bash and tear them down?  Should they stay home?  Where should they go?

There is a dude at my home church, who is gay. I sure most of the church doesnt even know he's gay (yet) He doesnt dress like a girl, he doesnt talk like a girl, he doesnt act like a girl (that I know of). Honestly I'd be less bothered by someone like him as opposed to someone who is Flashing his gayness all over the place. When they do that, they show that they are proud to be gay, and for some reason that just bothers me more.

Perhaps you missed something.

If they are being bashed, ridiculed, mocked, and torn down in the church, why would they go back to that church for more?  Okay, so let's say they go to counseling to "overcome" their sexuality.  Do you think any reputable psychologist in the world would recommend they go to the same church that bashes them, abuses them, teases them, ridicules them, mocks them, and tears them down?

Again I ask, where should they go?

Only a no-self-esteem-having fool would stay in a place where they're being consistently torn down.

I heard some interesting talk at the barbershop this weekend.  The guys were talking about this gay barber that works there and how his friends are all fine women.  It was the first time I'd ever heard discussion about some gay guy and they weren't bashing him.  They actually said they liked hanging out with him because he knew were all the girls were.  I thought I was in the twilight zone.

These dudes have twisted what MIAKA was truly created for.  I've read things where these idiots were saying that they planned to show up at the National Conference.  They're gonna mess around and catch a beat down from a bunche of women.

Plus I don't see why they have to claim AKA.  From my understanding there are plenty of gay frats, and sororities out there that they could become members of.  I don;t neccessarly endorse being gay, but don't try to force it on the mainstream.  If you're going to do it, then do your own thing.

Personally, I don't find it to be sick at all.  Only a fool would continue to come to a place where they're being mocked, ridiculed, bashed, and abused, and where they aren't wanted.  Consider this very thread.  The OP started off by posing the question, "why do they flock to the church choirs" (indirect quote)?  That question implies that they are not wanted in the church choirs because of their sexuality.  Okay, so if they aren't wanted there, and they don't want to be straight, or are trying to be straight, but having a hard time becoming straight, what should they do?  Stay home?  Drop out of church?

I got news for ya: many of them do.  Too many.  And some pastors feel that burden, so they build open-door churches (usually called "inclusive") where gays and all other sinners are welcome.  To me, there's nothing sick about that.  In fact, it's healing.  They are shown love and acceptance.  Some of them are loved right out of their sin.  Some are not.

You gotta remember that while many pastors do, with pure hearts, preach the word that God gave them, exactly as He gave it: with lovingkindness; there are many others who rant, bash, and abuse people who don't look or walk like them.  These folks get all up in the flesh and use their pulpit as the perfect opportunity to say all the things they've been thinking all their lives, whether God told them to say it or not.  So, where should these outcasts go?  They're abused in the church (many of them), but they love the Lord.  Most of them were born and raised in the church, and can't find a place there now.  So, where should they go, Herman?

Re: Jay, I don't know whether he's gay.  You'd have to ask him.  I've never been in his bedroom, and I doubt anyone here has.  I could speculate, but why?

I don't agree with churches that bash sinners. I've had a pastor that corrected me as soon as they realized I was sinning. As soon as I was corrected, the matter was left alone. Noone bashed me. Had that happened, I would have left. On the the other hand, I found comfort amongst friends because I knew they would accept my sin but it did not warrant my deliverance. A completely gay church seems like a refuge of comfort rather than a place of deliverance. I admit, I am not knowledgable on the matter and would like some insight.

I agree with that.  Sinners shouldn't be comfortable in thier sins at church at all.  That goes for any sinner, not just gays.

Exactly.  I was talking to my moms a while back and she was teling me how one of the mothers in a lesbian family we know is going to school to be a deacon. I asked her how are they gonna let an openly gay woman be a deacon? She told me that they are members of a gay church. That was the first time i'd heard of such a thing.  Then a year ago I was looking at musician job classifieds on craigslist, and there was an ad by a gay church looking for musician. Of course I did not reply to the ad. but before that I never knew that they existed
