I did something real stupid.

I moved to a bigger apartment and I throw some stuff away. My entertainment center for my bedroom was old and ready to be thrown out. I have plans to buy a new tv before march is over....


My bedroom tv is a 19inch old tv that worked great. I needed something to put it on so I looked around and started rolling my 4x10 cab up and put my tv on top of it. I was like great this will work for a few weeks, it's all good. Turned it on and saw the blue and red line across the bottom.

It took me a few days to remember what caused this happend on my big brothers tv about 15 years ago.

He placed a magnet on the screen of his tv and cause a blue and pink spot in the same place and the same size as the magnet.

Then it hit me there are 4 magnets in my 4x10 cab and the lines are on the bottom of the screen. I messed up my tv with the megnats in my cab.

Should have known better but was not thinking at the time.

19 inches...it was time for an upgrade...lol...I just purchased a 42 in. LCD, a major upgrade from what I had.

If you move the TV away from the mags and turn it off and then back on the degaussing circuit should fix that for you. If it doesn't a good TV shop can use a hand held degausser to fix in about a minute. When I had my shops we did not charge much for that at all.

I did in fact moved my tv and the discoloration went away. I am upgrading any how to a 42inch HD.

by the way, does that bad boi have a UHF channel switch?

I hate to even talk about the 13" in my bedroom....I can't afford new TVs for spending money on gear!

No it is cable ready and dvd ready. Got digital cable hooked up to it.

I forgot all about that because I have my tv sitting on top of an amp but I have not had any problems. I need to take it down.

i guess i must be blessed. my only issue for not buying a new HD tv was i didnt have no space to keep my old 27 incher and i didnt know what to do with it. (it was my first purchase from my first real summer internship back in 2001, so it has a bit of sentimental value). hey but then again, im not out buying $1800 basses, and new cabs and heads every 5 minutes, so i guess many of us are even.

A friend of mine was telling me when he was setting up his new home theater system he had to either leave room between the center speaker or put some sort of shield under the speaker.
