Christmas music
« on: October 22, 2004, 01:08:00 AM »
Does anyone have any suggestions for some upbeat Christmas music to for an ensemble/worship team.  I'm having a real hard time finding upbeat music (like Jesus is the Reason for the Season - Kirk Franklin).

Thanks

God is having me think about a special list of songs for our Christmas service... I an getting into the word and praying that God gives me the songs HE wants me to do... One of those on the list is "Emanuel" that ddw4e posted... I heard that on the radio last week and I immediately knew that was one that we were to do.  I also like "Go Tell" from Kirk's Chrismas CD... not sure if our limited choir can handle that one.

Pray about it friend...I will pray for direction for you and me...

Be Blessed

Thanks Kadman,

I'll have to check out Emanuel - (who sings it?).  I think Go Tell It may be a little too involved for my worship team also - it's a little late in the year to start practicing a very involved song.  But who knows, where the Lord will lead.

Norman Hutchins sings Emanuel.

Another suggestion for a good upbeat Christmas song is "We Worship Christ the King" New Birth Total Praise Choir "Spirit & Truth" CD.   You can hear a sample at the EMI Gospel Website www.emigospel.com

thanks everyone for your replies.

I checked out Worship Christ the King and Emmanuel.  They both sound good.  Now I need to try to get soundtracks for them.

Now, this has always been a favorite of mine...
OH, holy night, in three part harmony for the lead vocals.  I did that one every year.  If the harmony is there...awsome!! just totally awsome!! :D
