Jhanese Hester, is one of my favorite drummers. She plays for RIZEN and she can hold it down. I seen her at a concert and she killed it, and she can lock it down with MPC

Yo, I think my daughter which is 1yr. and 8 months is going to be a drummergirl.  Everytime I practice or sit down to watch a drum video she's there watching and moving her hands as if she was playing.  She always waits till I put the sticks down to grab them and play and stomp on my pedal.  I find it funny that she is so young and so in tune to what I do.

Even in church she'll always watch me playing or whoever is playing the drums that day. :D

I think your little girl will be a drummer. I think musicianship can be a genetic trait. I used to think that this was nonsense until I thought about this. My dad was a drummer and my maternal grandfather was a percussionist. Neither of them taught me how to play. Neither pressured me to learn. I know other self-taught second generation musicians whose parents didn't teach them a thing! Just think... when she's about 4 she'll be saying "daddy, let's shed"

Man that'll be awesome.  She's already in a Praise & Worship mentality.  Everytime I put a Fred Hammond DVD or CD or a Israel CD or DVD she'll raise her hands to the sky and praise and dance.  Then she'll hear the drummer do a solo or a fill and she'll drum in the air as if it was her playing.  Trust me, the first time I saw this I almost flipped out of the house in amazement.  Being a Dad is cool.  Specially when your child has the same interest as you.  Praise GOD.

That's great that she's getting the word in her spirit at a young age. I'm happy for you. Not that I'm rushing... but I hope one day to have an experience like that when I have kids.

Confession: It wouls be a dream come true for me to have a set of quintuplets. 5-piece band  :!:  Just think if I had 5 daughters though

Hi my daughter is a drummer and she is 8 years old.  She been playing ever since she was 5.  She is pretty good.  I think if she keeps going she will be one of the hots musicians out there because she sings well too and she is started to learn songs on the key board.  But she is getting discouraged because she don't see a lot of girl drummers.  Sometimes she say girls don't play the drums, drums are for boys.  I try to tell her that the are girl drummer out there.

If there are some girl drummers out there can you send picture of you playing  or a video and some words of encourgment.  I think if she sees it she will become excited again about the drums.
Be blessed in Jesus name!

My nephew just turned three and he tries to imitate everything that I do on my set. I brought him a drumset a few weeks ago on his birthday but he refuses to play it because he thinks that it is too small. It is amazing how the little ones pick up nowadays. Every generation of drummers get better and better, just imagine what the next generation of drummers will be doing.
