Simple Chords/Progressions in basically every song!!!!!!!!
« on: September 18, 2005, 09:43:08 PM »
Hey, Does any of you musicians know any chords/progressions that are common in almost every song. I know that most songs have basically the same chords or progressions that you play in any other songs. I just really would like some help on how to play songs easier. I am willing to devote as much time as possible to get it down. I see alot of musicians that can play many songs just by hearing them 1 time, maybe twice. The Head musician at my church said that simple progressions and chords that you play is in almost every song. Someone please help! :D God Bless You All

There are some simple chord progressions in an article posted by 4hisglory on the learngospelmusic news section of the website. If you take those simple progressions, learn them, and transpose them in every key, I think that would be a great start for you. In doing this you will be also training your ear at the same time. Now learning progressions is one thing and transposing is a totally different. Another thing too is to get someone to tell you some songs to listen to that have those progressions in them. Good luck in your journey. I am learning too. The brothers and sistas on this website are really anointed and have a heart to see other worshippers be blessed in their ministry as well.

Yea. That is used a lot in worshipy type songs, like Center of My Joy, Carry On-John P Kee, I Give You Praise-Troy Sneed; Throne of Mercy-Mississippi Children's Choir....

It's used mostly at the end of the song.

7-3-6, 2-5-1, 1-4-5-1, or any combination of the three. The most common combination of them is 7-3-6-2-5-1.
Real musicians play in every key!!!
