This is only the first part of the song, before the solo....and I may have some wrong notes, since I'm using memory. (I corrected the notes.) I'm posting this one because it's easier to write in this format. I'll just post a video of Black and White. It's actually pretty easy. Most of the song is just melody lines.

My favorite part of this song is the turn-around he uses at 1:09 - 1:19. Once you've learned this song up to 2:24, you know the whole song.

*bump*

I added the video, and fixed the chords above. I'll post the whole song in three parts, breaking the solo in half.

Let me see your versions too. Post them in a response here and on YouTube.

WOW!!!!!!!!!! Cheesy  Applause....

I've listened to alot of Joe Sample over the past years and that soung was one of my favorites.  If I may say you did a wonderful job even inspite of the background noise (lol).  I seem to have trouble with extra noises in the background when playing but you tuned in well to the song and made it stand out just as it did in the original soundtrack.  Alot of people when they repost or do their own take the song loses dynamics and voicing, but you got it right doc.  this one is a classic.

Joe Sample is like my favorite piano player ever!

After him then I'd go with Jeff Lorber then Alex Bugnon. John Peters is near the top too.

But to me, Joe Sample just has some crazy changes in his music. I love how he puts chords together.

To think, he's going on 70 years old and still kicking out top-quality music!
