Need a little help with "here I am to worship" by
« on: December 01, 2004, 09:33:36 AM »
I'm listening to the version on the new breed CD and I'm hearing a chord change that I cant seem to pick up. It happens when the song is winding down in the chorus when they start "here I am to worship, here I am to bow down....." Anyone know what the alternate chords are/what they change to? Still learning to pick up chords by ear and havent gotten the hang of it fully...

The original is
Chorus
      here i am to
E   / B E Ab    worship here i am to
B   / B Eb Gb    bow down here i am to
Ab / B E Ab    say that your my
A   / A Db E    God
      your all together
E   / B E Ab    lovely altogether
B   / B Eb Gb    worthy altogether
Ab / B E Ab    wonderful to
A   / A Db E    me

Hi gtsjames,
I think i know the chord change you are talking about its almost at the end of the song. But here it is my version. It sound great with a E. Grand sound or RD1000, MKS-20 module. That's the nice piano sound you here in the song.

Chord
LH / RH

Db Ab / B Eb E Ab
B Gb / A Db D Gb
A E / B Db E A

I use this chord to take me back to the beginning of the chords I'm showing you

B Gb / B Db Eb Gb

Repeat

Db Ab / B Eb E Ab
B Gb / A Db D Gb
A E / B Db E A

Let me know what you think

One more thing. Roll the note for the chords from Left hand to Right Hand when you play them. It sound real nice.
Example:Db,Ab / B,Eb,E,Ab

If someone could post the results of that song i.e. the chords, I would greatly be appreciated.  I'm still struggling trying to learn.  Guess my chrismas present to myself is structured lessons.

Might go to the store Greene Music for lessons.

Wow..my keyboard is near the computer.  So I was looking and playing.  HOw did you all know such complicated chords to play?  I liked jazz before I got saved adn that jazzy ending is one of my avorite parts of the song.  The closest replica I can make on my old Casio WK 1350 is the jazz guitar sound.  If anyone wants to "sow a seed" of a better keyboard teh only thing I turn down is my collar.  ANd now that it's cold outside even that is up half the time.

Hello everyone I was reading over the post and I realized that I know some chord changes that you could incorporate into this song as well. They may be a bit odd but it still fits.

Now for the part where they say" you're my God, try these chords and let me know what you think.

AbGb/CEGbB  You're my God, you're all together

EBE/ AbEbAb Lovely, all together

AbGb/ BbBEbGb worthy all together

AE/BEAb  Wonderful to

GbE/ABEAbB Me

try those few...they seem pretty...let me know what you think.

Hi Manogod,
You are right the ending is one of my favorite parts also. But to answer your question. I have a real good ear for music. I play Bass guitar also. I play a song maybe about 3-4 times to get the song in my spirit. I pick out the bass notes and add the chords to that bass note. I also see what key the song is in with the bass notes also. But I do practice a lot. I have been playing the keyboard for about 2 ½ years and I must say that it has been a big challenge for me on the keyboard.  But I have a great foundation (Jesus). I’m willing to share what I know on the keyboard with anyone. Feel free to email me, or send a message. I’m almost done with the the chords to the whole song. But what I’m doing is breaking the song down into parts before I post it. That way you will have all the part to song. I’m also including the next song Holy.

God Bless

Verse:
E/BEG# E/BD#F# E/ADF# E/AC#E

Chorus:
Here
C#EA
I
BEG#

BEG#
to
AC#F#
worship
E/BEG#
Here
C#EA
I
BEG#
am
BEG#
to
G#BF#
bow down
B/BD#F#
Here
C#EA
I
BEG#
am
BEG#
to
AC#F#
say that your
G#/BEG#
my
G#EG#B
god
A/ABC#E

Bridge:
B/BD#F# E/BEG# A/BEA A/ABC#E

And someone already wrote out the alternative chorus that appears near the end of the song.

God Bless
