Motif ES 8 programming
« on: February 19, 2009, 01:04:38 PM »
Does anyone know if it is possible to route the tracks out on a motif?  I have created some songs, using between 4 and 6 tracks.  I noticed on the back of the board there are 4 outs.  I was curious if it is possble to route individual tracks to be assigned to individual outs.  Thanks for any help you provide.

I don't really know but from a prospective from a MO user. I just play each track separately to the recorder or PC and go from there. I believe you can but then again I don't own a ES.

Ok, I'm aware of playing the tracks individually, but I was just trying to figure a easier way to load all the tracks at one time.  Thanks for your input though

Are you planning on recording the songs to CD or do you want to load to another program?

I am working on a CD.  So, a friend is recording me and wanted to know if there was a way to route each track through the outputs individually but simultaneously, instead of recording each individual track to his digital recorder.

I'm not sure you can, I've always taken the track one at a time from my board to the recorder. You could try sending themidiroom a pm, as I believe he does studio work.

If you have the manual, it's on page 88.  You basically go into edit mode for the performance and then go to the common page.  You select the part (track) and find the output.  You can chose L-R 1-2 3-4 or you can even send it out the digital outs.
