OUCH.  I know you stepped on some toes there.  I feel you though.  If it wasn't for a Head Drummer I wouldn't be where I'm at and getting at today.

I was behind one of those.  It made me work on my craft a lot to be the head drummer.  Then I thought to myself, "What am I doing?"  I'm not playing for a position, I'm playing for the Greatest Artist Ever.  I hurt myself and others by trying to be the head.  Now I'm well respected in church but I will always refuse to be called the Head Drummer.  I rather lay low and play behind somebody. I constantly work on my craft to be a better drummer for me and not for a spot.  Think about it, if you get the name Head Drummer then what?  Some slack off and feel like they've accomplished everything there is in church.  That's where the bad attitude of Head Drummers come in.  They don't work on their craft and they don't come to church.  My 2 cents.

I have been in that situation before. However, It wasn't the head drummer/Percussionist(Me)  that was now where to be found. It was the guy that complained he never got to do a solo.

So I said ok do a solo and he bragged that it would blow me away. When the time came he was know where to be  found.
