We are praying about starting a bluegrass gospel group in northeast Alabama.
And we need a fiddle player ,banjo, and mandolin player.
There is nothing like a live band.

our church has some folk that have a group that does nursing home and prison ministries...

They have guitar, accoustic bass, 5 string banjo, and a dohbro(sp) slide accoustic guitar.

They sound great.

This may be a bit late in response as I am new, but here goes!

I play as much Bluegrass as I can.  If you have the musicians that play, accoustic guitar, upright bass(electric will do), bajno, fiddle, mando or dobro, then you are truely blessed.  I can tell you that the Holy Spirit moves when the band is pick'in out some hot gospel tune.  Another part of Bluegrass Gospel music is singing in harmony without instruments, now that is something special.  If you can get it together it will be worth it.  You might even invite a local Bluegrass Band to your church to play.  I know many Bluegrass Bands that would love to do that because Bluegrass Music has a strong sense of family and many love the Lord!

Good luck and blessings!  :D

Good luck in forming your band,I don't play bluegrass, but gospel is good regardless the style of music that we play.
