Too many posts and pages to read through. But I will say that as a Marine one thing you never forget is how to excercise. I run three miles atleast four time a week. I monitor what I eat because of  my cholesterol. With increased excercise and a table of Apple Cidar Vinegar a day, I was able to lower my cholesterol. I stopped taking my prescribed medication because I felt I was too young to have a cabinet full of plastic brown bottles and I didnt want to be depending on pills to fix something that I can fix myself. I lost close to 15 pounds I feel great, my clothes fit me nicely and I didnt use any gimmicks. Just good old fashion running, push ups and crunches.
That's what I'm talking about! congrats on being able to dump the pills!

Thanks Bro. I read an article that pretty much said that the medication I was on was not good and was not a solution for my problem. I got disgusted and took matters into my own hands. My Doctor still does not know, but he is happy with the results.

I was presented with the opportunity to play semi-pro football out here in Fayetteville...this should help me with my transformation.

After returning from Haiti, I came home with a new determination to eat right. Haven't started an exercise plan yet. I have a docs appointment so that we can discuss what I can and can't do with my handicap. But with just eating better (no cokes, sweets, etc.), I have lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks.

Welp, I'm breaking the streak tonight with some sweet tea. Now I just emphasize water more in my diet than other drinks (drink the other drinks in moderation).

Nah, that's a good thing. Looks like the water-only diet served its purpose. Enjoy your tea and then allow yourself to drink sweets only on occasion. Ooooooooh that tea is gonna taste so doggone good to you!!! lol.

After reading a tip on the RealAge website, I started snacking on nuts this week- pistachios and almonds in particular.  I have also cut out my late night snacking (mostly).  Already, I'm down 4 lbs this week with very little effort.  Gotta get back to exercising though.

I just cannot eat anything that purports to be meat, but isn't.  I just can't. It's a brain thing.

If I were a vegetarian, I would just have to live off of potatoes and pasta and rice.

I won't get into the whole debate, but I think it's a bit misleading to say that meat took the place of the food God intended for us to eat. No point in discussing it since there are scriptures for both sides (I've had this discussion a thousand times over, so I know all the SDA scriptures and I know all the opposing ones).

But yeah, I had that morningstar stuff before. I will never, EVER forget that day. I had Sabbath dinner with a guy I was dating at the time. It was my first time meeting his parents and his mother made a huge Thanksgiving-like spread. I'm a finicky eater, but I had never had a meal where there was absolutely NOTHING that I eat being served. It was almost as though she intentionally cooked all the foods I DON'T eat. I was so embarrassed and uncomfortable. I tried to eat some of it just to be mannerable, but I started gagging with the meat pattie thingy. I probably would've been okay if I hadn't asked what it was.
