I didn't get enough rest.
Around 10:30 last night my daughter asked me to come sit by her bed until she fell asleep. I didn't get to sleep until after midnight.
My alarm goes off at 4:15am. It seemed like only a few minutes since I got in bed. I laid in bed for an hour contending with the idea of going back to sleep before deciding to make the decision I knew I'd be proud of later.
"If you eat like everyone else you'll look like everyone else. If you workout like everyone else, you'll look like everyone else. If you make the sacrifices that others won't, you can achieve things others can't." Ever since I heard that quote I've been using it as motivation. I repeated those words until I was able to get off the bed.
I went through my routine. I tip toe around the bed to avoid waking my wife (that comes later

) to my closet. I grab my gym bag, which I packed the night before, and go to the bathroom to get dressed. MAN was I sleepy. I grab my coat and give my wife a kiss on the cheek before I leave. I used to think she didn't notice until one morning I left without giving her a goodbye kiss. She called later that day and was like: "What happened this morning? You didn't give me a kiss or ANYTHING!"

I stop by my daughter's room and give her a kiss. Then I'm off.
I was dozing on the train. Sooooo sleepy. Yet proud of my decision.
I reach the gym and give all I have. Bench x10, Squats x10, Deadlift x10 in a circuit. I repeated the circuit 3 times with no rest.
During the workout I'm focused, but after? I don't think I've ever been that tired after a workout. After my last rep I sprawled on the bench and almost went to sleep. I didn't move for at least 15 minutes.
I could've skipped this morning. I could've lied to myself by saying I'll just go after work instead of before. I wouldn't have.
If you eat like everyone else you'll look like everyone else. If you workout like everyone else, you'll look like everyone else. If you make the sacrifices that others won't, you can achieve things others can't. Train hard my friends.
