Bass Trainer

FYI...
I purchased the Bass Trainer by Tascam about 4 months ago($150).  It has been invaluable to learning songs quickly.  You can slow down the tempo with out loosing pitch and loop it too.  That is the main feature that I enjoy, especially when learning that incredible riff.

Ha! Tascam should pay me for this commercial advertisement.

U plug your bass directly into it and you have an output for headphones or speakers (you cannot plug in an amp).  The sound is suprisingly good.  Put in any cd and play it.  You can boost the bass.  Cut the bass and play along.  Slow it down.  change pitch.  It has a tuner.  Bunch of other stuff.  Check it out here http://www.tascam.com/Products/CD-BT1.html.

If you are looking for some really good headphones for bass check out the Triport($150) by Bose and Ultrasone HFI-550 ($280).

Ok I'm curious too... So would you suggest buying one?  The choirs I play for learn a lot of music.  Do you really think it will make a big difference in learning and development?  If so, I might have to pick one up.

Hello fellow bass players, I’m new to this site and feel blessed that I found it. This being my first post I pray that it helps. There is a product that I have used for about 7 years and it is great. It will do all of the things that the Bass Trainer and some. The main feature that I like over the Bass Trainer is that when you make a loops from a tracks on CD’s and when you put that CD in again it will have all of your information as it will keep it in a database on you computer forever along with any information you typed about the tracks and loops. So take a look and download the demo I feel that you will find that this is a good product. http://www.worldwidewoodshed.com/  is where you will find the software named Slow Gold. I have played Bass of 25 years and have been playing gospel for 6 years and love it, I play a Peavey Cirrus six string as my main bass and find that it gives me all I need for the two Churches I play for. I have found that the expectations put on Bass players in Gospel Churches is great and this has helped me to lean very fast and come back and review my work.

Be Blessed and Slap hard

Thanks notyme.  I think this is a great tool also.  I will check it out too.

Browntree, I would definately recommend the bass trainer.  As it is portable also.  I can take it with me to practices or when I go out of town (I hate to miss practice time so I take my bass everywhere).
