2011 NFL Off-season News
« on: February 22, 2010, 03:33:10 PM »
Like me, you know you miss the NFL season. I thought I'd start a thread where we can discuss any interesting (and yes, predictable) NFL off-season happenings including the NFL Draft.

I'll start:

LT is out of SD

Randy Moss may not return to the Pats next year

Tim Tebow is changing his throwing motion in order to go higher in the draft. ::) ::) ::)

Will Carolina keep Julius Peppers? That's the big question here.

Cedric Benson, Chad Johnson (I REFUSE to call him 'Ochocinco') and a motivated T.O. would make that Bengals offense something fierce.

I'on know...Chad and Terrel weren't that spectacular this past season  :-\

I hope the bengals won't fall into the trap of getting all these old superstars thinking this will get them a chance at the superbowl...

Only if Palmer's arm doesn't turn into Edward's arm; or, Fitzpatrick's as it did this season.  :-\

No surprise, Birds cut ties with 'Brook.

It was a good run, but he needs to call it quits. Westbrook is out there playing scared because of concussions. There is no way he can be productive on the field if he's thinking about having another one. BTW... He can always get a job on ESPN or next to Tiki Barber and Michael Strahan
We have an obligation to the generation.

What's gonna Happen with M. Vick.     I don't think he's happy coming off the bench ( although you won't hear him complain about it).

there are a bunch of teams that need a QB:
1.  Bills
2. Raiders
3. Dolphins
4. Lions
5. Browns
6. Bucs

T.O. was well behaved in Buffalo,   but he got kicked out of Dallas unfairly.

there are a couple of teams that are in need of a makeover  because of increasing age and or injury
1. Patriots
2. Steelers
3. Ravens

their core players are on the backside or thier careers.  They are decent teams because of experience,  but about  to be in the (rebuilding)  mode.

Now on sale: Aging Running Backs.  Still runs, but not nearly like new.  Some wear and tear, but still serviceable.

Man it breaks my heart to see players like LT and BW get tossed aside like they're nothing. I know that its a business and all but it still breaks my heart that these guys may have to wait until someone gets hurt in order to get another job.  :( :-\

I think the Rams would love to have Vick.  There isn't a QB in this draft worthy of the #1 pick so they can get Vick at a bargain price and draft other needs.

Professional sports ( but espically professional football)  is a meat market.   physical  prowess is at a premium at just about every position.   Hit hard, run fast, jump high.   That is what the industry requires.  Only QB's   are looked at for their  understanding of the game.  And chances are  a mobile  QB with a cannon for an arm will always go higher than a guy  who can really  make the dificult throws in tight windows ( Think JaMarcus Russel)
