Might be hard, but it would probably be beneficial if you forgave this cat in prayer or in person and prayed for the success of the music ministry.

Wait on the Lord and be of good courage. I've felt down many times. I play at church most Sundays, however when there's convention or any special event they find someone else to carry out the play the keyboard. It's devastating at the time but I find comfort as time passes. I also get better (listening can have huge effects :-) ).
Just listen!

I pray it all works out fine. Don't let bitterness get the better of you. I have been there and it hurts.

This is why I stick to guitar. :D Hardly anyone can play it in my church and I enjoy a silent monopoly over that portion of the band's sound. :)

Replacing me will be hard.

Hey family! Been a minute lol

I had to comment on this because Ive been in the same situation.  Ive been with my current ministry since 2005 and before the previous musician passed at 25 it was she and I learning and teaching each other; coming online looking up information on LGM and so on.

So imagine our surprise when the "new kid" on the block comes in and gets placed OVER us.  Which is really not a surprise because its happened before and because of PRIDE he ended up leaving.

There is a level of pride with the current guy who plays, he loves transpose and refuses to learn a song "correctly" as I call it without all the add ins and fill ins.  I had to forgive both in my heart and to their faces.  What you do not want is for it to take you out of your place.  I still play and GOD still moves although it takes me a minute to learn and retain, I do it because I know GOD has called me to this place.

There's a level of anointing you will possess and have remaining humble. Also by asking for forgiveness you never know how GOD will use that to break the chains off of his life and move him into a position to where he becomes a worshiper and not just a musician.

Have you ever play the game chess? People think the game Chess is a toy, but it's not. Chess is a thinking mans game. If God, the designer of this game, knows which musician will be crowned king in the end, if He has called, appointed and anointed you to play and is using you to be an instrument to do His will, why in the world would you allow the devil to chase you away from your post.

(The only way any king can be dethrowned or step down from his post is if he is found gulity of treason and that's not the case here)

Of course the devil can clearly see which direction you are headed in the music ministry and so he uses the tackiest weapon as ever, an ameture pawn of all people to move you away from your post. You are probably a few inches away from being crowned King (promoted to a higher level in the music ministry), and the devil is doing everything in his power to block it. I know this must be hard for you, but something like that will cause me to persevere more.

One way or another the people or person that appointed the other guy as the pastor musician will wake up and realize they moved the wrong man in position.

So I would encourage you to hang in there the game is not over, yet. Show this guy that God is moving you in the right direction. If God says that post belong to you, then be prepared to stand on it.

Lol, that is most definitely the short version of the story.  UGH, LaRue thanks for making me feel convicted! lol.  I was ready to go and turn my keys in and say I'm done!  One thing is for sure, I do not want to re-tested on this.  Normally I let stuff roll off my back but, it hurts sitting up there sunday after sunday, looking across at this dude in disgust and frustration.

At the rest of you all.  Answer this for me, if this decision to make him music pastor was indeed from God, Don't you think it would have been communicated to me!  (I don't wanna use that decent and in order scripture out of context but it sure makes my argument look nice)  ;D
No. Only because if you believe in the leadership of your Pastor then you would hope he is being Spirit led in his direction he is trying to take the church. I will use a military analogy here, does your commanding officer come & speak with you before making a decision for the unit you are in? I say this to you in Love continue to be like another minstrel David seemingly passed over but stayed faithful in the field & God took care of the rest! Stay encouraged!
