Listen,...regardless of the situation, the sad thing about it is this; true or false the Body of Christ suffers and looks bad in the image of the world stage. That's what our enemy is after. Remember his goal -- To kill, steal, and destroy, Period. So, Satan's entire goal is to ruin us, physically, spiritually, mentally, tarnish our image, and the list goes on.
So with that said, the passage of scripture that comes to mind is this; Eph Ch 6:11 which says "Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil." We have to understand that our enemy actually "Schemes" against us. You know what that means? Think of the word; it means that he actually devises a carefully orchestrated plan with the ultimate goal to destroy us, think of it like this; for a contractor to build a house or build a ship or a jet, an architect in this field has to draw up plans and schematics that are well designed in order to build these complicated structures, same way with our enemy of which the bible says we are not ignorant of his "devices" Thats why we have to put on the whole armor of God, and notice the bible never say anything about taking this armor off, so we are to wear it 24/7 in order to stand firm against these things. Not syaing the enenmy wont attack, but we stand firm against it.
Now true or false we have to pray that he be restored, if repepntance is in order then fine, if an apology is in order then so be it. But we must now pray for them, all the families involved, and pray that God would cause the turth of the matter to come to light and forgive, restore, and love them back to the fold whoever is at fault.
In any event, i'm with Rue on this too, i'm glad to see that we've grown to the point of deciding to discuss these delicate situations in an orderly fashion, or not discuss it at all, and as some of you already express, our job is to pray that the situation gets resolved soon.
