I think Kobe is going to have to be carried off in a casket before he leaves the NBA. Phil Jackson's upcoming retirement could change his mind though.

Between Rose, Howard, Lebron James, and Kobe Bryant, who would you choose for MVP?

Tony Parker.

Tony Parker.

TJ,

It's a reason why Tony wasn't mentioned...he's not deserving.  To the initial question, I think Rose should win it.  However, if Kobe wins, I'll be estatic.

I think Tony is the best point guard in the league right now. He's definitely the best finisher, and he doesn't have half the ego of a Rondo.

But to answer the question, I too think Rose should win it.

I think it's certainly possible.

The Spurs have looked terrible as of late and I'm not convinced the Mavs can beat the Lakers in a series.

The Celtics made a big mistake trading Perkins.  They're also looking pretty vulnerable.  And I don't think the Bulls have what it takes to beat the Heat in a series.  The Magic on the other hand can give the Heat serious problems.

I think the Lakers and Heat each have a legitimate shot at the finals.

Rose.  He's been playing out of his mind this year.  Outside of him the Bulls only have Boozer, Noah, and few decent players yet the Bulls are sitting at #1 in the East.

Because of Rose.

Saying Parker is the best is showing your loyalty to your team...however, he's a top 5 pg but definitely not #1.

IMO, the Bulls have one of the best starting lineups in the league.  Four of their starters (minus Bogans) could start on 90% of the teams in the league.  Their bench is also decent...they have a legimate chance to beat anyone in the East, including the Heat.

Agreed.  I mentioned Boozer and Noah.  The only person I left out was Deng, who I don't really care for.

Great starting lineup.  I agree they have a legitimate chance to beat the Heat.

I'm just not convinced they will.

When you faced the 2010 Heat in the playoffs you had to worry about Dwayne Wade scoring an obscene amount of points playing fantastic defense (he is SUCH an underrated defender) and making you work for a win, even though the team wasn't that good.  They weren't good in the regular season, but Wade stepped it up in the playoffs and made them better.

When you faced the 2010 Cavs in the playoffs you had to worry about Lebron scoring in bunches, grabbing rebounds, dishing out assists, and pretty much being Mr. Everything.  Outside of Lebron the team was mediocre, but Lebron was so good at so many things that he made them look great.

When you face the 2011 Heat you have to worry about both of them on the court at the same time.  These are big time playoff performers.  I think they'll be too much for the Bulls.

It's looking like the Heat will meet the Knicks in the playoffs.

For those of us too young to remember the Knicks (Ewing, Starks, Oakley, etc) had a huge rivalry with the Heat (Tim Hardaway, Alonzo Mourning, Dan Majerle, etc) in the Mid-90's.

Now we have a new cast of characters.  With Lebron, Melo, Wade, Amar'e, and Bosh there's going to be a lot of star power in that series!

I don't know -- I'm just not at all impressed with the Heat. They have potential, but they haven't gelled well as one cohesive unit, and they too often seem unsure of themselves. They may make it to the finals, but I'm putting my money on Chicago or Boston at this stage.

Before trade Boston was favorite to win it all. After trade, it wouldn't surprise me if they lost in 1st or 2nd round.

Fair enough.

I don't think it'll happen.  The Heat and Knicks have the same problem...they huge stars that haven't been together long.

The difference is the Heat have bigger stars who have been together longer.

The Heat are a good team, but I don't think there two Megastars can beat a cohesive unit in the playoffs.  I think they can win the 1st round because the Knick aren't a cohesive unit.  However, the Knicks are a talented team and anything can happen in the playoffs.

Speaking of the ol rivarly, the first thing that comes to mind is the fight...lol.
