Remember, the Hornets traded away Kobe Bryant for Vlade Divac.
Yeah, but were the Hornets in championship contention during that time?
I get what you're saying but I do think Perkins trade was worse. But you do have good case.
Inside presence.
How? I know Perkins was an essential part to their run, but how would he have help them beat Miami?Another trade that was worse than that...Tractor Traylor (R.I.P.) for Dirk Nowitzki and Pat Garrity.
Perkins is a good player. Would he have been the difference between the Celts winning one game in the series and them winning FOUR games in the series? He ain't THAT good.
I have a feeling that you guys are giving Perkins way too much credit. Sure, he's a presence, defensively. But, he wasn't exactly a force. In addition, he was foul-prone, so it wasn't like he was going to give you 40 minutes a game anyway.
Yea, nobody's saying he wasn't a good player. He just wasn't good enough to turn a 1-4 lose into a series win.The Celtics would've lost ANYway. You simply can't compare that to the Kobe for Vlade trade. You can't.
Nobody's saying Perk is the only factor here. Look at the before roster and the after and count how many other people are missing besides Perk. That was a Championship team before they screwed it up. But hey we'll jess agree to disagree
