it depends on what you're trying to stack and also how the stacker gets on top of the cymbal stand. If it just clamps I wouldn't use any other cymbal larger than a splash. If it actually "threads" or "screws" onto an existing cymbal stand then I guess it's safe to put a larger cymbal on there. But different companies makes theirs different so it's hard to give a straight answer.
