Anybody know of any good music schools or colleges besides Berklee College of Music ?

i plan on going to berklee but there is also juilliard in NY and also the percussion instiute in california.........

Curtis Music Institute and the one of the sickest as well is University of the Arts ...they are both in Philly...I hear North Texas Is ok too

There are plenty of music schools. What most people do not understand about music schools is this: Most of your classes will be the same as classes with any musician on another instrument. The main thing to consider when choosing a school is what instructor you want. Berklee does not teach drummers anything about drums. Berklee hires a teacher to teach you about drums, just like 90% of the other schools.

So, my advice is to find a teacher that you want to study with and choose a school where they are. Some schools to consider are... any school with a music major program.

For Christians, Belmont University would be good. It is a Christian school.

It is all about what you want to learn and who you want to study with. Don't believe the hype about Berklee or any other school. Your concern should be about what private instructor you will have. It will be mandatory to get a private teacher because you are graded based on that. Do not go to a school based on reputation.
