Gospel music learning resources...
« on: October 12, 2010, 04:33:42 PM »
...has come a long way! ;D

Back in the day you were lucky to find someone who knew how to play and was willing to teach you. Most of the time they could not explain what they were doing. But it sounded good! Also, the only way to learn a song was to learn it by ear with a tape player. play--> stop--> rewind--> play...
Man, I remember it used to take me all day and sometimes all week to learn a song.
Now you got this website, youtube, ntime music, and the list goes on.

It still has a ways to go because I can easily find a jazz, rock, and classical teacher. On the other hand, it can be rather difficult to find a gospel teacher that can actually "teach"!

True! Now can you give us some of your favorite "moves" so we can do what I'll call a textual Jam, maybe someone else will drop some too. ;D

I guess it depends on your area...I've never had a problem finding a good teacher. :-\

With these economic times, finding a music teacher that if affordable is hard. Skype and webcasting is a great option and I am glad to use it
