My question is..how much IS too much? Can too much take away from a person's anointing? Can a person's appearance cause people to take them for a joke when they're trying to witness or when they're on the pulpit?

It doesn't take away from their annointing, but it does have an effect on how the message will be received. Especially if it's a person who you've never seen or heard of. First impressions are lasting impressions.

To be on the safe side, I believe that anything that has the possibility to distract a person from receiving your message should not be worn when ministering.
