The Job of the director
« on: June 24, 2011, 04:45:20 PM »
My director gets mad at me when she screws up.. She forgets the words.. her hand signs are awful.. so the whole choir tends to look at me..
its really hard to tell them what to do when a million different chords are running through my head. How do I give my director pointers with out tuning her out!!
Singing and Playing.. lol is mY life... thank God.. For music..

Yes Sir, I play the organ.. And I just dont know what to do about her
I love her to death. But she somtimes has no idea what she's doing..
she forgets part of the song.. It always ends up being my fault.
I really want another director but I dont wan't to hurt her feelings

I have dealt with this many times. Patence-  is first. Before you present a song (new or already in your library) run it by all your musicains and directors. We call it a musician meet. Drummers are asked to attend to get all special effects on their instruments together.
Once you have all your instruments on one accord your director is right there too being re-freshed. It eliminated many arguements in front of the choir which shows a sign of weakness in the authority foundation. (Any crack in the foundation the building will not be able to stand.)
Your duty is to help;  not to cause more problems. Remember, how you treat otheres will someday be how you will be treated. Is she an older person?
