I might give that series a shot.  I hated the AC series, though. *kanyeshrug*

You don't like AC...Aw man, I can't get off the game.  When I started playing, I couldn't figure out where to go and got lost traveling, so I put it down for a bit.  Then I watched someone do a walkthrough on youtube and got the concept and I've been hooked ever since.

Splinter Cell is tight.  If you like interrogation, stealth and infiltration with shootouts, then you would like it.  The only thing if you are really into the first person view like MW, then it may turn you off.  Me, I can't stand the first person view, as I like to control the camera.  I've been playing since it came out on Playstation and have been hooked ever since.  I must warn you when you play conviction, don't play around kids as it has quit a bit of profanity.

AC is a great series...The best was Brotherhood IMO

The minigun, laser rifle, and laser pistol are my faves...for now.

BOLD: That's another thing I needed to brush up on, how to get a companion in Fallout 3.

I think they are coming out with a fallout 4...

They need to do just that.

You still don't like Skyrim SJon?  ::)

It's the storyline.  I'm not a fan of dragons and warlocks, and all that crap.  The game plays VERY much like Fallout, so that isn't it (although I didn't quite get the handle on beating someone with a stick as easily as I did with Fallout).

See, that was my problem when I started as well (also trying to do some of the moves got on my LAST nerve).
I'll assume MW is Modern Warfare. If so, I've never played it but Splinter Cell sounds like 'Deus Ex' (which. I. Loved! and wish they would come out with another DLC).  If by 'first person', you mean you can't see behind you, then I agree about the camera control but 'Deus Ex' was 'first person', and, again, I loved that game.

Man, I need to be more current with gaming. I swore off console gaming; my last console was a GameCube. I stick purely to PC games.

However, my current laptop can't handle high end games like Skyrim. I've got Skyrim and installed it, but the frame rate goes to crap, even at the minimum setting possible.

I just finished Oblivion. After a while, these games get old. No matter what guild you join, its still the same "Go here and kill this or that person".

The concept is the same, along with the gameplay minus the robocop type action...LOL.  I think you would enjoy it.

Splinter Cell is the bomb. I liked how you didn't have to going around killing everything to win.
Only thing I didn't like was how people couldn't see you even though you had 3 glowing green lights on your head.

The same is true with 'Deus Ex: HR'.  There's even a trophy for doing things all stealth-like.

Absolutely.

In Deus Ex you can customize your character how you want as you level up.  You can invest in abilities that make you an offensive tank or abilities that make you silent as a shadow...or a super hacker, disabling cameras, hacking into locked rooms, or hacking into turrets and turning them on your enemies.

Killing people defeats the purpose of any Splinter Cell game. :)

The 3 glowing eyes really didn't make that much sense though. :)

I will never look down on 2D games. Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger were 2 of the best 2-D RPG games I have ever played.

Blizzard opening Diablo III beta for stress test this weekend

Quote
Looks like Wednesday morning's brief leak of a playable Diablo III "Starter Edition" did indeed foretell more open access to the game ahead of its release, as Blizzard announced this morning that it will be opening the game's beta up as part of a server stress test this weekend.

Any players with a valid Battle.net account will be able to log on starting at 12:01pm PT today, but you can start downloading the client now, before the servers are officially opened. Open beta players will then have until 10am PT Monday morning to try and work their characters, which can come from any of the game's five classes, up to the limit of level 13. Weekend players won't be able to try out the in-game auction house using the game's preliminary "Beta Bucks" currency, however.

Those who are in on the closed beta will of course still be able to play this weekend, and until the beta shuts down on May 1. Then it's just a couple of short weeks until the official May 15 release date. I know, we're still having a bit of a hard time believing it, too.

Yeah you are right. I can just get a new battle.net account. I don't even want to count the number of hours I have wasted on Diablo 2.

I did however get the full necromancer, barbarian and paladin sets. :D

Will not be gaming for a bit. My laptop crashed on me and I can't afford a new one yet.

Looks like its Word Mole on my BB for a while. :(
