Hello LGM!!! I know that nobody really cares, but after much anticipation even to the consternation of some LGM'ers, the 20th and final heritage painted unit has been released by Norfolk Southern.
The Delaware Lackawanna & Western Railroad (known as the "the route of Phoebe Snow" for its named passenger train) is commemorated as Norfolk Southern SD70ACe #1074 shown here at Muncie, IN. The DL&W was a Class 1 railroad operating in the states of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Competition from trucks and declining coal traffic eventually lead to a merger with its bitter rial, the Erie Railroad to form the Erie Lackawanna. The EL would eventually become part of the Conrail which as split up between NS and its rival, CSX.

Thus concludes the Norfolk Southern Heritage Locomotive repainting updates. Of course, I will keep you updated on any new developments regarding these units....Or perhaps, we shall go through Union Pacific Heritage Fleet?
