You dont lol. I just play talk music at the begining and the end of their message, right around when he/she is about to begin altar call. To me that is like god given the organist a rest  ;D.

I mean I would love to do that but the preacher I play with requests me to play preacher cords and runs behind him and it is very difficult to do so...

The best place to start is to listen to Eddie Long. This is where I started, the key element is to use pads. I use the minor and the harmonic scale to chord off of and run scales off of. The runs don't need to be fast but need to flow with the preacher. The key thing to do is "Flow" with the preacher.

Hope this helps , let me know if you have more questions

You need to kinda hit the chord very fast,  as those type of preachers usually don't give you enough time to play full blown preacher chords. If you can't get a rhythm going, then just stop playing.

How do you do it? DON'T!!! *T-Block has spken*  ;)

j/k

I agree with the other LGMer's input. A fast chord, quick run, etc. will do just fine.
Real musicians play in every key!!!

What do you mean pad? My preacher is the same way, and I'm a beginner who is trying to learn the organ
