use of a fender in church
« on: March 11, 2013, 11:05:37 PM »
I am pondering purchasing a fender american deluxe five for use on sunday morning. Are there any players using this bass next to an organ and are there any tricks/adjustments to cut through?

I really don't care for Fender basses, but personally, I couldn't think of any reason not to use one for gospel/ church music.  Seems a matter of taste.

You can't go wrong with a Fender Jazz. As a matter of fact, I would put a Fender Jazz, up against any bass out there. There are some great basses out there, but most of them are just Fenders on steroids. I'm still kicking myself in the butt, cause I didn't buy the Fender Jazz. But if you just want to be different, get the Carvin SB5000. That's is a mean bass & it won't break the bank, cause you buy direct from the factory.

Those are nice basses; try one out and see if yo like it.  IMHO, Fender is making some great sounding 5-stringers that compare favorably to the competition.
