Detroit Bass Players has a really well organized FaceBook presence.  A number of very high profile and highly talented bassists in and from the Detroit area participate.  August 3rd is the date for the 3rd annual mega-photo shoot in front of the historic Motown Museum.

Another thing that some of the members in the area are doing is a series of interviews of Detroit area bassists in the Bass Mint.  Here's my kids being interviewed in the Bass Mint.
