I have a question about chords what does it mean when you see some thing like this Cadd9 cause ive seen it on different chord sheets

if i am correct it mean that its a C major chord 1st inversion then you would add the ninth note of the scale 2 it which would b a D. What i would suggest is you go into the learning center on the site and go in free e-book and there are charts that show you wat all that means
