Nothing because I have 2. I dont use mine to do doubles with because I came up on single pedals. I just double with the single. I only use it for double beats you may not hear too often in a song. You may only hear this beat once in a song because if this beat is played more than once in the song it can kill the groove. I am known for having a retarded foot on a single pedal but strong power on a double pedal. I can play on a single pedal so smooth where it sounds like I am playing a double pedal.

Usually when i see someone with a double bass i don't think too seriously about it. But it will make me think that he/she takes their drumming seriously  b/c they're working on maximizing the abilities on both their feet instead of just one.

I usually think.."Oh great, here comes a kid who's gonna play 16th note patterns through "I am a Friend Of God" or "Here I am to Worship" DANG!" how original. I myself am not a great double kick player, but I am not impressed with 16th note patterns the way they are normally implemented. It has it's place when used tastefullly. Like when Marvin uses it on POL III DVD. That was cool. Chris Coleman does a good job with it also. You gotta understand  I am not impressed with speed, and chops all the way through the number. I guess, tastefully done, it can be a great added element.

If you can put it in the CONTEXT of GOSPEL MUSIC, do it.  If you can't, keep practicing (dominantly by yourself 8) ) !

Usually I don't think too much of it. I just hope that they know how to use it. Because from my personal experiences I've since people that has some of the hottest riffs but when it comes to using their  pedal they lose the composior. But I grew up (and still use) on a single pedal. But I know how to go down with a double.

OH NO!!! I have no problem with double bass pedal players!!! i play with double bass pedal myself!!! it's just that I had went to a music store and there were a bunch of church musicians talking about HOW THEY WON'T PLAY  with alot of young drummers and there " immature experimenting" in church using double pedal!!! Most of the musicians where non drummers and they all had the same opinion about it!!! I just wanted to get the opinion from others!!!

I think it's  cool. Double bass pedals allow a drummer to play more complex grooves,  fills and patterns. I could understand if one is not efficient with it and cats not wanting to play with him or her, but that just means that you have to stay on your grind and shed before you try to pull your stuff out.
I play mostly with a single pedal, but I'm studying to improve my double bass playing. I know I'm not even taking that pedal with me  to a gig until I'm confident with it.   We don't go on a gig to pratice, we perform &/ or minister.  And you know, It doesn't matter if you can play... double stroke rolls and crazy stuff with your feet unless you can use it tastefully in the context of what ever your playing.

(Shout out to my dog, S.  Harris at Willy P., putting me on to this site)
