Hello,
I'm a trumpet player needing a little advise on how to comp with the other church musicians (organ player, piano, drummer etc). I can read music but I am learning to play by ear. I understand progressions (I-IV-V-I, et al). Here are somethings I would like a little help with:
1) When should I use the root of a chord, the 3rd?
2) How loudly should I play?
3) Different types of mutes I should use?
Any other advise would be greatly appreciated.
