All right so I got together with the other 2 drummers in my church and like I said in another Post, we're planning to get a new acoustic drumset so we decided to go with a Yamaha Birch Custom Absolute 6 pc.

One of the guys was watching the DW/PDP Promo DVD that's out and he wants a DW set for church. Guitar Center is selling the Yammy for $2, 499. I asked about a DW Finish ply set that they had there (maple-black) and they wanted $3, 100 for it.

Is that good or too much? Around how much did you DW players pay for your set? We like the Satin Oil better than the Finish ply. Around how much should we be spending for one of these?

Sizes: 10x8, 12x9, 14x12, 16x14, 22x18 Bd. - 14x5 snare

was up bra. that dw set is real nice. i've played on it before but it's very nice. Thats about the right price for that dw set. The yammy is nice to. But personally i would go with the dw. I would play either one but one before another i would go wit the dw

So I'm guessing that the Satin Oil finish DW will be about a $1k more, right?

I want one for my personal use but I'm really trying to see if I can fit it in the $5, 000 budget that I have to work with for the church. I don't know though.

was up kid. no the satin oil shouldn't be any more. But that 3,100 is good for a dw. Then the rest of ya money you should be able to get more cymbals and extra hardware.
