4. Don't have additional people that you invited along. Don't assume they will have a "seat" in the vehicle.

Don't assume it's okay to bring little Billy's dinner into my car. I may not want anyone eating in my ride!

Question: How do you guys feel about offering to give gas money?

Yes, I know it sounds ghetto, but . . . . I was a student for four years getting my BA and then another three getting my MA. I tell ya, some people will take advantage of you and let you chauffeur them ALL around town ALL the time (not just to church and back home, either . . . to the store, to cash their paycheck, to the ATM, to pick up their kids from daycare, etc) and never offer to give you a dime. Beleive it or not, some college students have to budget out their gas money or they won't be able to get to work / class / church. Plus, anything they get they will more than likely appreciate.

So, here is my idea about money for gas: If you know they are professionals, working full time, then okay. But if you know that they are a college student and they are watching every dime, offer to give them some money especialy if you are one of their "frequent flyers."

You might want to ask once "Can I give you something for your time?" If they say no, then let it drop unless you are again, a frequent flyer.

Be Blessed  :)

I believe in offering money for gas; especially with TODAY'S gas prices.  :D

Their work/school status matters naught to me.  I offer REGARDLESS.  Mostly I just give it to them w/out asking.

Just my Twin Lincolns.  ;)

I'm not a big fan of the "Money for Gas" thinking.

Why??

1.  You can go 20+ miles on a gallon which is $3 bucks at the most
2.  If you are going to the same place anyways, why charge??
3.  I just believe in giving, and doing for for folks without looking for anything in return.

Praise God I seldom have to ask for a ride these days.  But I would always offer gas money, esp. if we're going a long ways, the person is nice enough to let me ride, the least I can do is pitch in something.

On the other hand, I have a hard time accepting it from people I pick up, even if I could use it.

I feel ya, BUT it avoids unneccessarary (intentional) Conflama (conflict, confusion & drama).  In the area I'm in, that kind of thinking will get u used & abrused (again, intentional).  Square Biz.  It's shameful but true.

Ummmmmm... you feelin okay homey... cause this osund like the post about someone blowin the horn at 5 am... LOL...

When I pick people up, I expect them...

1. To be ontime
2. No ask me to stop when we already late
3. Ask me to take you to like three places and you aint put a dime in my tank.
4. Be ready when its time to leave....

I cant stand to pick someone up and I gotta wait in they house for all this time lookin at they ugly boyfriend/ girlfriend/ kids while they still tryin to find they other boot, and tryin to find what purse or jacket to wear.... They get in the car and got nerve to ask "can you take me by the bank real quick?" >:( That is annoying.

I'm not raising an offering for gas. If I help you a couple of times and you don't offer I will not help you again.. period. It's shows people have bad manners when they won't at least offer.

Another thing. No fartin' in the ride.. I know we all saved but folks will fart in your ride. It's nothing worse than having that unspoken conversation. You know the one where you both look at each other and its just yall in the car. Each one insist its the other one. Oh I guess its just me huh..  Another thing. For the drivers keep some peppermint in the whip because every now and again somebody may have forgotten to hit those teeth and gums... Yall no I ain't lying.. I'm just say though lol...

If you are the driver make sure you have something to do afterwards. That way when they get in the car you lead the conversation and act like you are in a rush. Tell them you have to be some where so you cant stop.

I will tell friends now "no" or I will say "I will leave if you are not ready." And I will leave you.  :D I know some might not think its Christian but some people you have to break out of bad habits myself included.

If I dont have much gas then I will tell the person "I dont have much gas. Im on a buget to get through the week." Basically you give them the "Im going to bake this cake and me and my son will die" something will happen. :D

All in all some people are just professional hustlers and know they can get the driver to take them all over the place. They have to be broken out of that. If is a stranger from church you can either speak or hold you peace. It depends on the situation.

I have had a "farter" in my car.  And what made it so bad is that she was FINE yall.  It was this dude's sister.  This smell came in the car, and me and him looked at each other and was like man, did you do that?  All of the sudden his sister said, I'm sorry yall, I had to let it out, I've been holding it for the longest.  I rolled down all of the windows.  But after that, I just couldn't look at her the same.  She had been eating cabbage or boiled bologna or something.

When someone is picking you up for church, work, a date, etc….. please

1.   Be Ready
2.   Re-read Rule one
3.   Don’t ask to stop by somewhere

You must be feeling me in the spirit.

Wen you get in MY truck, don't bring out the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich and that red plastic Dixie cup with you thinking you're gonna eat in MY ride.

Do not tell me once you get in my truck that we need to go and pick up so and so cuz you said he/she could get a ride too.

If you do bring your child/children with you do not give him/her/them candy before they leave so they will get my truck all sticky.  I don't care if he's 5, I will put him out.

Do not slam the doors to my truck. This aint no tank.

Nobody has permission to eat in my car except me.

Everybody wheres a seatbelt, Im not paying anyones ticket, sometimes not even my own.

Dont even hint at touching my radio. Im no parent but I will pop that hand like nobody's biz.

If we're supposed to be somewhere in 30mins, do not call asking for a ride, when you know I live 20-30mins away. All requests fr rides need to be made atleast 2 hours before, preferably, the night before.

If you call for a ride because you DO NOT HAVE a car (or any other means of transportation), please do not make cracks on the status of my vehicle.  Even if i'm driving to church in what is considered a "hoopty", you HAVE NO CAR and NO RIGHT to say a word!

If lack of conversation makes you uncomfortable, get over it.

It is okay to just listen to the music and ride, especially if it's my favorite song.  You may sing along quietly, if you can't sing, don't sing along at all.

I cant stand for people to get in my car and tell ME how to drive....

that is a No No. If the speed limit if 45, and I am doing 47, dont be lookin at my spedomoeter.... talkin about ' you better slow down, the police be over here'...

Dont be tellin me when to turn on my blinker... or when to switch lanes.

And when I stop to get gas... you could atleast go inside to pay, or pump.... Why I gotta do double duty...Irs not like I am asking you to shell out money for gas....
