Mildred McFall organist for Mahalia Jackson
Kenneth Morris organist for the First Church of Deliverance, Chicago
Fred Nelson  organist for the First Church of Deliverance
Ralph Goodpasture "                    "
Professor Allen   Chicago, Illinois
Charles Miller  Chicago, Illinois
Me... Felix Scott  Chicago, Illinois
Maceo Woods

Kenneth Morris introduced the Hammond organ to Chicago and to the world.  He was the first organist for First Church of Deliverance.

At first there was a lot of criticism from the old-line musicians that it was jazz.  It was bringning the devil's instrument into the church.  Some of the old-line musicians didn't want organs in the church.  They didn't want pianos in the church.  They didn't want gospel music, period.

The greatest mistake most amateur musicians make is giving up.  Don't give up !!!

I'd have to mention Arthur (Buddy) Strong who plays for Usher, Israel/New Breed, Yolanda, Marvin, etc.

Second, Jeffrey Arnold who is head organist of Azusa World Ministries in Phoenix, Arizona. (My organ lesson teacher)

Phoenix, Arizona produces some great musicians![/code]

I am shocked that nobody has mentioned:

Rev. Charles Nicks or Thomas Whitfield! We all have grown up on their music and still learning from it!

By the way, Twinkie's first teacher was her mother, Dr. Mattie Moss Clark.
she was herself a master of the keys.

How about Curtis Daniels from Ohio.

My favorites list:

Twinkie Clark
Rudolph Stanfield
Thomas Whitfield
Charles Nicks
Derrick Jackson
Bill Moss Jr.
Moses Tyson
Daryl Houston (organist for Aretha Franklin, can also be heard on the "Detroit Remembers" project along with Rudy Stanfield)
Brian Watkins ( a local Detroit cat)
