I play with my shoe on.  Without it the metal part of the pedalmakes my foot hurt like crazy.  Also, the shoe keeps my foot under control because without it my foot wouls be all over the place

When im tryin to play in some newer shoes that happens a lot.  Most of the time I play in good ol' church shoes .  But if its a concert i got a pair of Air Force ones from like 4 years ago.  All of the sticky rubber has worn off.

(bass player) Ok so this is normal, i just thought it was a gnasty thing our youth drummer does my drummer plays in shoes, but he is like a real old school drummer so that might be y. hearing this makes me think of driving a clutch if my left foot is bare or wearing wreslting boot i feel how the clutch works so much more. this is very interesting!

I play with my dress shoes on when I play during our 2nd service on Sundays, and I play with casual or dress shoes any other time.  At home I play mostly with no shoes.  I'm gonna start playing without shoes during church service to see if it feels as good as it does at home.

for y'all that play barefoot or want to,there is a product called grip peddler (hope i aint misspelled it).check it over the internet.it's a protective pad that attaches to your pedal and prevents the metal from hurting your feet!

I play with my shoes on, I feel like I have more control that way. It'd be uncomfortable for me to play with them off because of the metal footboard and the height of my seat.

I play with shoes on and off it depends on what I have on at the time. I used to play in my socks only but after geting some crazy looks when I took them off in front of people I decided to learn to play with shoes on.But Im comfortable with both now.

Man!!! I thought I was the only one that plays with my shoe off.  I been doing it so long its like second nature!  I think I was one of the first ones!  It makes my foot faster and because I have a small foot (size:10), I can put my whole foot on the footboard!
