I agree that it means to serve.  Also, for some reason when I think of the word "ministry" I think of a vessel that is specifically positioned and poised to allow the Spirit of God to work through him or her and touch someone else.  That's just the picture I get when someone says that word.

ministry ...in the broadest sence is nothing more that an offfice....like the minster of defence...and office in which you serve the people period
