Pino Paladino(Frm E BAdu to BB KING, boy's played for everybody), Terry Tribbett, JR frm Easton, MAtt frm nwk, Jon frm nwk, Reggie Young. Some amazing brothers!!!!

1. bernard Odum(from james browns band in the early 60's)
2. Fred Thomas (from james browns band )
3. Aston Barett (From Jamaica's finest Reggae recordings)
4.Louis Statterfield( B.B. King's Band bassit)
5.Donald "duck" Dunn(From Stax Records, Also played bass for Albert King)

8O man im just shocked no 1 have said Mark King of the group Level 42. He's my number 1 and Flea of the red hot chilli peppers is number 2.

I saw  3 of the best bass players around at TaMyya J's CD release last night  Derrick Hodge, Adam Blackstone & Terry Tribbett

awwwwwwwwwww man! When I posted earlier I forgot to put derrick hodge up there...I don't see him too often, but when I do, he leaves such a impression on me. On the bass and as a person, the dude's awesome. BUT yeAH these three dudes are monsters!

yeah I was in bass heaven :)  Adam's a serious producer too, there's this live track he did on TaMyya J's CD, smokin'. I think he produce like 5 or 6 songs  on it.

As far as gospel bassists go I think everyone has mentioned some serious players.  However, only a handful of gospel bassist have amazingly graced the pages of Bass Player Magazine.  As far as I know only Joel Smith, Maurice Fitzgerald & Bryant Wilder have had articles written about them or their music.  I think, but I'm not sure, Andrew Gouche has been written about in BP.  I was actually quite surprised that unitl this post no one has mentioned B. Wilder, his band and his gospel/funk/jazz CD are crazy.  He's one of my favorites, the others are Anthony Jackson and Mark King.  Oh, BTW Alicia Keys' bassist's name is Rufus Jackson--good player.

I htought Alecia keys bassist was Steven Rodriguez.. He is endorsed by Warwick ... i may be wrong but im pretty sure of it.

i cant believe no1 said mark king of level 42. he lead sings and plays punchy bass lines. he and flea are the best hands down.

I think tha Victor Wooten is the sickest bass player to me. I have seen him play and i have never heard nothing like it.

Well my #1 KIM STONE which no one seems to know better pick up a new c.d. by the RIPPINGTON"S. #2 Abraham Laboriel Sr.Not to many mention him either get a copy of Koinonia if you can find one. #3 Louis Johnson MMM  MMM MMM This man can lay down the funk!. :lol:
