I just want to see the different drummers you all like. My favorite drummer is Calvin Rodgers who plays on most of John P. Kee albums. Tell me who is your favorite. :D  :D

Calvin Rodgers is a an excellent drummer, but I still like LaDelle Abrams, the original drummer for John P. Kee. That dude is off da chain. He played for the Strength CD and the Any Day CD.  I also like the drummer from Bishop Paul S. Morton's Let It Rain CD.
Real musicians play in every key!!!
Music Theory, da numbers work!

I like all the drummers mentioned above. Although I think that Calvin Rodger's best work that I came across was on Larry Trotters "Tell the Devil I'm Back" album. Anyone see him playing live? He bounces up and down more than a yoyo.

To add other drummers. I love Marvin McQuitty (Fred Hammond), he plays with so much power that it makes me sweat. I like Gerald Heyward work off the first James Hall album and Hez album with the Lord Will Make a Way Somehow. Mario Winans did his thing on Perfecting Praise album too.

I've got many more but these are the ones that come to mind now.

hahah.... yea i use to study LaDell Abrams techniques.  I knew his every move on the John P. Kee "Strength" CD (when i was real young)

Now John's older son plays for him,  C.J. or Chris Kee.  And since i go to their church, i see first-hand how good he is.  He is rediculas.

Calvin Rogers is also sik on the sticks.

Can't forget about Marvin McQuitty (Fred Hammond's drummer..sickly 8O )

Kim Burreal has a tight drummer too, dunn ohis name

I like Austin Moore.  Of course he is from Louisville.  But he went to play for Bobby Jones for a few years.  Now I hear that he is playing for a group in Detroit, I think.  He is the only drummer that I have seen that actually gets caught in the spirit while playing and sings with the choir while playing.  I don't mean just mouthing the words, I mean he actually sings.

Without question, Bill Bruford.  A lot of the stuff with contemporary Christian music has session players on drums, so I don't really know their names.  Most of them are very good, though.  I like the guy who normally plays with Tommy Walker.  I forget his name now.

Hey lildrummaboy_987, you from philly or something? I see you got Spanky and Eric Tribbett listed. But who is Nutty? I don't think that I've ever heard of him.

Well...I agree with what I've read, and man, all those guys are ''ill'', some reall monster drummers there, however since we're on the subject matter of best drummers...wouldn't Vinnie Colaiuta be ''the baddest'' now that he's a christian...he's my favrit.

MARVIN is the man!!
he makes each song his own.
he knows where to put in the rolls, fills at the right time and that for me makes a drummer.

he's got the power,creativity,got the dynamics perfect!!,accuracy,speed.
for me he is the best!!

Have anyone heard of Kevin Stephens from Gary/Chicago. He died a few months ago but he had made a serious name for himself in the industry.
